Much Improved

The scales on this knife are so much better than what came on the original bugout. The handle feels a lot sturdier. Knife came centered and the action is perfect. An excellent upgrade over the previous model.

Lite, but mighty

I was a bit skeptical about spending the money on a such small knife? After I received the knife, I was very much surprised the size. I started to play around with if get used to the function(I never had an Axis Lock) and brake it in. Once I got used to the function (I am left handed so I like ambidextrous controls) I very much enjoy it. I am also a big fan of S30V Steel. I always strope my knifes after receiving them. I absolutely love this knife, i carry it in my shirt pocket (like I used to carry my Swiss Army Knife). I thought, at first, that the handle material wouldn't be very strong or durable, it is very lite, but plenty strong. I don't sue this knife as a field knife, but as a EDC office knife. This is perfect for what I need this knife for. In fact, I plan of getting aother as a gift, and a Benchmade Redoubt, witch is designed for a bit harder use.

Bugout Elite

This is the perfect EDC knife. It's so thin and lightweight I actually forget it's in my pocket. Obviously it's not designed to be a hard use knife, but most EDC's aren't either. If you want a quality, affordable, lightweight EDC the Bugout Elite is for you. The scales are much stiffer than the previous versions. Blade came razor sharp and centered perfectly.

Worth the Money

This is my new EDC. I'm pretty thrifty on most things, not my blades. Kitchen or tactical, I will pay for quality. The only thing I did was pull it apart, polish the bits, and use a very lightweight gun oil on it. It minimized the break-in time and made it much faster. She spends a lot of time in the field with me. So from opening a box to dressing a rabbit, this knife will do it. As far as what I would have wanted to know before buying it? Nothing. I do homework before purchasing a blade. Got what I expected. So light I forget it's in my pocket.

First Benchmade Knife

It's my new EDC. Love the axis lock. Will take a little getting used to. Very sharp, and incredibly lightweight. Can hardly tell the knife is in my pocket, I did remove the clip. At first I thought I should have purchased the full sized Bugout. After a couple of days, I changed my thinking. This knife exudes quality!

Get what you pay for

I did a lot of research on this knife. I don't mind spending money for quality. This was worth it. You probably can find a better price. I've used it in camp and as an EDC along with my Leatherman. You won't find a better blade. I call it a "Gentleman's Blade." At 1.8 Oz I sometimes forget it's in my pocket. Slick, nice profile, does everything a knife should do. You will need to use light gun oil and work it out. Out of the package it pretty tight. I took the scales of mine and polished the bits. All you really need to do is lightly oil the joints and the Axis lock. After a couple of days of using it, it will become an extension of your hand.

There's a lot of hype

Honestly, this knife is great for it's purpose, a lightweight, useful knife. But I also think this is a 100 dollar knife at best. I'm disappointed with it for 2 reasons. The first being blade centering. A knife nearing 150 dollars should have essentially perfect blade centering. On a scale of 1-100 and 50 is dead center, this knife was about 25 out of the box. Which is literally unacceptable for this price point... The second reason this knife let me down is because the CF Elite is still not enough to combat the flex of the scales. You can still squeeze and pinch the scales. Looking inside the knife the scales are milled out. For no reason! I'd rather them be filled and have even better rigidity than being milled and save 4 grams of weight... (that being said, I will be getting Flytanium scales) Other notes are, the axis lock sticks SUPER hard at first. Which I've read that it's a piece you need to break in, which is fine enough, it's not a big deal. I just feel let down by the price point compared to the finished product. Don't let my initial thoughts fool you though, the knife came amazingly sharp and does the intended job being lightweight and effective, it's just probably over hyped. (The deep carry pocket clip is more than welcomed)

Very Nice EDC

It's an improved version of the base model Bugout! This is a really nice EDC knife. The blade was sharp and well centered and the CF Elite handle materials are stiffer than the original grivory which I appreciate. There was a tiny bit of lock stick that even after oiling the pivot and breaking in the knife for several weeks I can't get to go away. Not a huge deal but worth noting. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to a friend. The reason for 4 stars is the price tag. Compared with knives like the Hogue Deka or Spyderco Para 3 lightweight in SPY27 the Bugout should come in even or below those in cost rather than above. Still if you want a light EDC knife this is a good one.

Dull...

First off, no issues with KnifeCenter. Shipment was on its way very timely. The issue is with the knife itself. I have several Benchmades and am use to the axis action being stiff at first, but this knife is by far the worst I have seen day one. The biggest issue is with the edge. Angle is almost nonexistent on one side. Blade will not even cut a folded paper towel from the factory. This is the dullest knife, with the worst edge grind I have ever purchased. I will get this fixed myself, but at this price point that is a little ridiculous. I am remembering why I was told to always get BM's from a local shop so you can look at the exact one you are going to purchase first.
