BM 535

Great knife, many options available but this one is a champ. Great slicer, weight, and sharp out of the box.

Great Knife

I have 3, this one, Red Battlewash and CF-Elite. They all perform excellent at what they were designed to do. I can hardly tell a difference between the 3. Great materials and steel, very sharp and slicey, light, compact and pack able. Scales have good grip with a comfortable surface, this one seems a touch better scale surface. I don't loose grip and my knife hand is injured with limited movement and feeling. A couple drops of oil with proper adjustment and and they all 3 are easily one handed flickable to open and close. Though the thumb stud to open draws less attention. Well made, good materials with excellent fit and finish. They aren't heavy duty camp or hunting knives but I like them for what they were made for and and they do it well.

The Bugout

Great knife for edc if your looking for a knife with hardly no weight to it then this is it. But yes the handle feels cheap but it’s for cutting small things not cutting down trees. For light use only not a pry bar either lol. I clip mine to my work shirt pocket it’s awesome.

Overpriced and worth it

First off, knife itself is more army green and gray than in the pictures, where it looks a little more brown and near black. Not a bad thing, just making people aware. This seems to be kind of a touchstone knife that remains divisive, and while I acknowledge that it seems weird for the scales to flex like they do, it doesn't affect performance. The scales and handle ergos feel great, you can get your fingers nice and close to the blade for fine carving, blade is very sharp out of the box and slices phenomenally. Zero blade play in any direction, amazing considering the lack of liners. The action is smooth out of the box with no stick or grind. The click and clack isn't super satisfying just because there's not much weight to thud against, but overall it remains one of my favorite knives to play with. Clip has just the right amount of grip and curve to be my favorite going in and out of the pocket. I get the hype. There's something about how it feels and functions despite it being a featherweight that is essentially appealing. Is it expensive, too expensive for the materials? Yes. Is it worth it because of its singular feel, intangibles and touchstone status? Yes.

Over rated

This is an excellent EDC pocket knife, good ergonomics, easy handling, lightweight, sharp blade but it is very expensive, it is good for light duty and everyday shores. The material is not very strong and you can do well with another knife for a better price such as the Buck Bantam or others alike. I purchased this knife for the how much was said about it also because it was the last thing everyone was talking about, it was a status symbol. Do I regret? Yes if I ever loose it I would have lost a lot of money. I love better the Buck Bantam.

Upgrade the scales

I have 4 Bugouts. The Mini Bugout and the 535BK-4, 535-2 and 535-1. Great knife potential. I have upgraded all with Grivory scales to titanium or material of your choice. Keep it MADE IN THE USA! Also if you want a tight lockup and no swash in the blade I recommend oversized washers
