The PERFECT first knife for a kid
Don't get the wrong idea from the review headline. There's NOTHING "Mickey Mouse" about this knife. It's actually one of my favorite EDCs also. The Griptilian is no-frills, solid, and reliable, and performs as well as any other folding knife I have. But this is by far my # 1 choice for my son who's turning 10 in August and ready for his first pocket knife. It just checks off all the boxes for me: Reliable, safe, easy-to-use locking mechanism (Axis) Easy to open (round hole) Ambidextrous (Axis lock, round hole, tip-up clip can mount on either side) Easy to grip (textured Noryl GTX handles, jimping on blade and top of scales) Safe blade design (modified sheep's foot) Overall fit and finish are excellent, as with all Benchmade knives. Comes out of the box sharp. The knife is well-balanced in the hand, and the opening mechanism is smooth. S30V is a proven steel. I really can't find a negative. This is one of my all-time faves. The kid's gonna love it too.
