Reviews and Ratings for Benchmade Mini Griptilian AXIS Lock Folding Knife 2.91" S30V Black Drop Point Combo Blade, Black Noryl GTX Handles - 556SBK-S30V
Benchmade Mini Griptilian AXIS Lock Folding Knife 2.91" S30V Black Drop Point Combo Blade, Black Noryl GTX Handles (4 reviews)
I own 3 mini Griptilian knives. This used to be the Benchmade base level working knife that was recently replaced by the Bugout series. I find the size, weight and blade steel to be the most useful of all the knives I like to carry. The S30v steel takes a good edge and retains it. The blade is very tough and can be used for light prying without damaging it. Because it is the least expensive Benchmade I don’t mind using it for any tasks I don’t feel like it needs to be babied. My favorite work knife and my constant companion. I did replace the stock pocket clip with a Benchmade deep carry pocket clip. Personal preference.

Missing 2 screws
I usually go with Kershaw or spiderco, but wanted to try benchmade to see what all the hype was about. Ordered 3 mini grips on sale, one for me, and 2 for gifts. I opened one for me and noticed it missing two screws in the handle. I'm curious if the other 2 are the same, but I don't want to break the seal because they are gifts. Doesn't seem worth the price difference, go with Kershaw, or spiderco

Having owned and used several Grips /MiniGrips their S30V is pure sh**. To soft though I believe they never heard of 2nd stage hardening for martensite.
