Light and Strong

Received my all-black Narrows just in time to take it on our 12-day hiking trip in various Arizona locations. My first impression was how light it was for its size. I am left-handed and this knife is truly ambidextrous. More than once I did a momentary panic thinking it was gone as it is so thin and light you do not feel it! On trail duty the knife was great performing all food related and various other duties. I like M390 and normally carry a Shirogorov 195 series folder but when you want to go light, try a Benchmade Narrows!

Great tour de force by Benchmade

This is Benchmade flexing their technical chops, and it sure shows. This is incredibly light and thin, and yet a solid EDC knife. Mine came with the blade a touch wobbly when closed. I did a 1/8th turn on the pivot with a T10 (yes, T10) and that went away. Technical execution is, again, fantastic. The titanium scales are scalloped both inside and out to, I assume, save weight. It works w/o impacting torsional strength. (Makes sense to me because the thick remaining parts make up an H-frame lattice.) The pivot uses some high tech ball bearings, check out this video for a tear down: https://youtu.be/29gck8rkXsk?si=xYRsf-BKMtRuw50n Benchmade is really becoming the (old) Rolex of knife making: technology and durability. A real tour de force! I am tired of people complaining about the price. This is high tech and high tech costs. If you don't want to pay the price, move on down the road.
