It came razor sharp out of the box, A true Benchmade classic. I have it in my Left front pocket, the lock is kept on for most days and is very r you secure until I need to deploy the blade. I love the pocket clip on this model too, Very easy for pocket insertion.

I use the knife both as a law enforcement officer and as horse owner. I've never been disappointed by a benchmade knife and this knife is no exception. I've never owned a auto and I like the convenience of being able to open it when my hand are full.

Getting another one
Always sharp and good for most work when in Iraq. It slowed a bit when opening due to all the sand but was still faster then getting a folding knife and learning to open it properly every time. A couple of guys had an issue where the lock would come loose after a lot of wear and tear, but otherwise a good quality knife.

I had mine for 11 years, thought I lost it and came on this site to replace it. I have recovered it recently and am happy to have it back. Great knife, here's why: Very sharp out of the box, and stays sharp with moderate use. Easy one hand opening while multitasking, easy one hand closing. Lock is strong, never had accidental closing. Safety is secure, never had accidental opening in the pocket. Able to manipulate safety and lock while maintaining positive grip in handle, both opening and closing. Handle is aluminum and strong. Size and shape of handle provides positive control. Only down side is the serrated blade. When it is factory sharp, it cuts well. However, when it gets some use, it frays nylon rope. For this reason, I prefer a straight edge. Makes for easier sharpening as well. I doubt this knife will break anytime soon, but if it does, I will replace it with a straight edge of the same model, if available.

Longest lasting knife I have
Was issued an AFO in the military in 2002. 20 years later it is still my edc. It's been abused and still sharpens up well every time. I bought 2 AFO II just in case this one fails someday. Now I should be set for life!

Nothing bad to say about this knife. It was used in Iraq 04-05 and I carried everyday since until it was stolen from me in Afghanistan recently hence me buying this one new.

I have carried one for over ten years. They come really sharp and are an amazing tool. I bought my father one that he loved. It got lost while he was outside. I replaced it with a new one. He found it several months later and it looked no different than when he lost it, with standing the winter ect. I lost mine about 2 years ago. I really pay attention to putting back clipping in pocket. Looked high and low and was actually thinking our pup carried it off when not looking. Anyways I replaced it as it is a extension of my body. It was lost roughly 2 years, other night wife was cleaning house. She went to vacuum under couch cushions, she found it wedged deep in the back side. I had looked there multiple times. I was beyond happy and couldn’t believe it. Put newer knife back in its box in the safe. I haven’t been that happy in a long time as I thought it would never be found. Benchmade are the best!!!!!

This is one he** of a well built knife! It’s rock solid yet not too heavy for daily carry on a duty belt or vest. I’ve never had any issues with the springs in these. Benchmade charges a little more but they always work. Well worth it, peace of mind! Go Benchmade!!

Great knife! Works well and is very sharp. Solid construction. Only things i dont like are the locking mechanism is a little cheap fealing, and the case is terrible.
