Benchmade Quality !
Love this knife right out of the box. The grip is very good, the dimples allowing for a great grip and zero slide possibility. I am impressed with the thumb placement that allows for precise guidance of the blade while the other four fingers fit well underneath. I doubt this would be a good knife for LARGE hands but it's JUST perfect for me. The blade is pretty snappy and certainly snappy enough for most. The blade is serious sharp. The safety lock engages and disengages with a definite click. I really like the small pocket clip that allows for deep carry. It sits deep in my duty pants ever ready if needed. I thought of getting a competitor's duty knife ... but the warranty that Benchmade provides and the Life Sharp service always makes me go with Benchmade. I've had knives go back to them for service numerous times...WELL WORTH supporting them as THEY support me.

Fabulous knife
Best knife I have ever owned. Through the years I have used many different knives but the quality of this knife is superior to all the others. It is really light and has a very sharp blade.

I'm still not sure about this...(meh)
I have owned, and I currently own other Benchmade knives. For my EDC, I have nothing but Benchmade. I generally have two at all times that I refer to as my daisho set...a full size and a mini version. All that said, I was super hopeful this would be an awesome knife to carry. When it arrived, I couldn't wait to get to the mailbox and start checking this new addition out. When I opened the box, the knife just sat in an over-sized opening in the box as if just tossed in...not like carefully placed as you'd expect a good knife to be. Maybe the box for the Mini Claymore is the same as the regular Claymore, but it just seemed very cheap for a first impression. I picked the knife up from the box and immediately noticed how light it felt compared to my other Benchmades. When I pushed against the button to activate and open the knife, it felt very stiff and clunky, almost what you'd expect from a gas station pocket knife. Closing the knife felt even worse. It's almost as if there were a lot of burrs on the button mechanism and the knife just seemed like it wasn't the quality Benchmade is known for. Even the pocket clip feels light and flemsy. After about an hour or so of working with this knife, I was able to get most of the roughness out of it where it is now opening and closing more of what I'd expect. I'm debating just taking this apart and re-work it, or just send it back. I have to say that I'm completely disappointed in the quality of this knife. It certainly lacks the feel of what I'd expect coming from Benchmade. I was planning on buying the daisho set of the full size tanto version when it comes out next month, but I'm seriously re-thinking this. Maybe I'll just stay with my old set and forget this Benchmade Claymore?
