Well-Built, Handsome Knife That's Let Down By A Chintzy Pocket Clip
I really like this knife but I'd love it if not for the pocket clip. It's not deep carry and it's just made of chromed spring steel despite what the specs currently say. This could be a nice EDC if they had used a 2 hole deep carry clip & moved it closer to the butt of the frame. While the clip may disappoint, there are plenty of things to like about it. The scales are very similar to a Benchmade Bugout in size and shape except here they are purely decorative and are made of an attractive matte finished crushed carbon fiber. The flat ground blade has a lovely curved transition between the grind and the full thickness of the blade near the pivot; it's one of the nicest blades I own at this price point. The flipper has been well engineered so that the effort it takes to overcome the hold close detent is just enough for the blade to swing open and lock. It works so smoothly that I find myself playing with it quite a bit. The liner lock would benefit from a slightly more aggressive finish so your thumb has better traction, but that's really picking nits. The blade could be a bit sharper out of the box - it cuts paper fine but I can finger it without feeling like I'm risking a cut. All those nice details make the pocket clip design all the more frustrating.
