Another Ken Onion winner. I like it!

I got this to replace my CEO which was a huge disappointment to me. Not very sharp and very hard to be open. I'm sure it is an anomaly but I had none in town to try out. I would recommend to reviewer HERB to try another Stylus as mine opens with no extra effort. I have fingers on both hands compromised due to a motorcycle crash and complications from arthritis and this , I'm sure, did not help with the CEO. Fit and finish are excellent and this KnifeCenter exclusive is a beautiful piece of pocket jewelry. I am not a big fan of Micarta but the finish is good looking and feeling. S35VN was a big attraction for me. The texture on the scales is very good for me. Sharp and fast deploying blade takes a few minutes to get use to compared to the Leeks I have. The only complaint is that the pocket clip is too tight. I'll remove it and adjust. Problem solved. Get one.

Very good knife

As usual, the fit and finish is very good. Holds an edge very well. I open loads of packaging at work, and it has not needed sharpening yet (one month). Easy to open as opposed to the CEO, which I had a little trouble with. I have DCA sized hands, but they don’t work as well as his;). The knife itself is small, and everyone at work was impressed with it. In other words, nobody in the office is freaked out when I use it. Although it’s small it feels durable and has held up to the tasks I’ve used it on very well. Overall, very good for knife with a competitive price considering it is S35VN. Knife Center had it to me in no time at all. Kudos!

Great Materials and Tight Construction

I am very pleased with this knife. It’s the first I’ve had with a premium steel. I am also impressed with the quality of the construction. The blade is very tight when opened and does not have any lateral wobble. I also have a big focus on brass in my EDC so I was pleasantly surprised that the gold colored steel is almost identical to my raw brass implements. I also believe the scales would be easy to replace if I wanted to change the look of the knife.

Beautiful litle knife. My new EDC.

The materials and craftsmanship are first class. The S35VN blade is razor sharp and holds its edge well. The slender blade is excellent for fine control and yet it can cut cardboard all day without getting dull. The knife is light, slender, and unobtrusive clipped in my pocket. It is also a thing of beauty.

Great little office knife

I wasn’t actually expecting a lot from the knife and was very pleasantly surprised. I work in an office where people wear suits and carrying a big clunky knife can stand out. This thing looks super cool, the materials and appearance are great( especially considering the price), and the little thing feel more solid than you’d imagine it would. Very happy with this and will definitely be taking this with me to the office.

Tiny Titan

I am now 73 yrs old. and was raised to carry a CAPABLE KNIFE on my person at all times. Always be prepared. This little Boker can do it all. from field dressing a deer to caping a martin to removing a tiny splinter as well as dispatching an assailant. It is my new go to EDC. What an elegant solution.

Perfect little knife

Really love the colors. They remind me of Chinese new year. I have a trapper as well as this knife and I prefer this slightly smaller version. The knife feels sturdier and the blade thicker. The flip action is great if you like the clunk. The dove is great and as easy to tuck into a jacket or pair of pants as a pen. This is a unique knife that is really great.

Elegant Design

Looks very elegant and classy, does not need a lot of space, good blade material and shape, comes with a very sharp edge. The only downside is that the flipper is quite hard to operate and with aggressive jimping and edges.

Fun, fidgety with a nice look. Although the screws were loose and the pocket clip broke of without ever being used.

Nice knife terrible clip

This knife is so beautiful, in love with everything from the opening from the flipper to the exact connect of the liner lock thats exactly on point. The exclusive scales from the knife center are awesome love the feel and look. Blade came super sharp after a good strop it is now scary sharp. But this clip make me Want to just say how stupid a great build can turn ugly. Put knife in my pocket and walked out to my friends to show off and it hit the floor clip 1 way knife the other. The screws are nothing but a joke Why would this even pass the factory much less my buddies at the knife center. And another thing I think every body on these reviews for this knife said the exact thing. Problem with clip screws. Im going to reach out to the knife center and try to get some screws and a better clip even if I have to buy to like this knife. BOKER WILL GET A CALL TOO. I DONT THINK THEY WANT CUSTOMERS NOT BUYING A KNIFE BECAUSE OF A USLESS CLIP SITUATION.

Great knife weak clip

Carried a few times, with kahki or athletic shorts and head broke off one of the screws for picket clip. The blade and opening action make it worth keeping but I'm leaving the clip off.

Great knife bad clip

Love the blade steel on this knife. The knife is excellent for a gentleman carry situation. Everything about it screams awesome. Thanks to knife center i got it super fast and its clean as it can get . The only thing I wish I could change is the pocket clip screws they broke fir time I put it on. But I still will keep. Wish I could get some real replacement screws for it though

Beautiful knife. Flipper hard to open.

Pros: Beautiful knife. Sharp blade. Cons: Flipper difficult to open and damages fingernail. This is a beautiful knife! The scales and liner colors really look great. The blade is very sharp right out of the box. Comes with a pouch and a tool for the scale screws. Feels great when closed or open. BUT, opening it is the issue. The flipper is small, with jimping on the edge. It was VERY difficult to open. At first I couldn’t open it at all. With practice I found if I held it “just right” I could open it. But it required a lot if force, more force than any of my other knives. It hurt my finger tip and eventually started a callus. And sometimes, if I curled my finger tip when opening it, my fingernail would smash into the liners and got chipped & broken. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this knife for anyone who absolutely NEEDS their fingernail, eg. classical or finger style guitarists! Sadly, I eventually returned it knowing I would never be totally happy with it. This could have been my most favorite knife if it wasn’t so difficult and uncomfortable using the flipper to open.

The best version of the Air Mini Kwaiken series

What I like about it. S35VN steel. Compact and slim. Bang for the buck for what you get compared to the other versions of this model. What I didn't like Fit and finish. Had some sharp corners Edge came dull - I had to sharpen it Right hand pocket clip only. I noticed one of the reviewers called this a Ken Onion design. That is not correct. it is a Lucas Burnley design.

Forget the Pocket Cip, Otherwise Nice Gentleman's Knife

As others have noted, the pocket clip is weak. The screws attaching it are too small. They may work with light pressure, but mine snapped right off hooking over my jeans pocket. The screws are still in there. Not sure if I'll be able to get them out. No complaints with KnifeCenter. Shipped quickly. Not sure if I'll return it. Love the S35VN blade.

Hardware is very weak

The knife is a very sleek design that feels good in the hand and has a nice factory edge. Plan to replace the M2 x 3mm under the pocket clip at a minimum, the raised head ones on the scales are mildly better but likely should be replaced with a golden PVD SS or TI flatheads. My knife arrived with a broken screw under the pocket clip and upon attempted disassembly the remaining screw sheered at the head. very soft metal combined with the countersink style flatheads causes breaks with very little force. While this is better than some issues with mass produced knives it's not the best thing to deal with out of the box.

Cool idea, poor execution

Cool design but executed poorly. I try not to believe that all made in China knives are bad and not all are. This one I rate a 4-5 out of 10. Let me start by saying that the first time I went to clip into my pocket the clip snapped off. I was wearing a pair of jeans but that's no excuse for this to happen. The tiny clip screw heads sheared clean off. I was hoping that I could get the headless bolts out or this was going back. Luckily I was able to remove with some micro pliers. I then used stainless bolts to replace them. Clip is now much sturdier. Next is the EDC deal breaker. The tip of the blade when inside of your pocket has a tendency to rest slightly (Like a hair) out of the safety of the handle. This means that sometimes when you reach in to pull it out it may or may not bite your middle finger. Assuming you draw with your thumb and index. For that reason alone this will now be a desk jockey used to open letters and boxes when I'm there. Which is too bad because this is a pretty cool knife. D2 Steel. The action is smooth and fast for a flipper. The scales and hardware (Other than the clip bolts) give it a semi premium feel. And this knife is slim. Slightly wider than a sharpie. Hopefully they revise future models to have the blade sit further into the handle.

My EDC, but not by choice

I picked this knife as I thought the steel was a steal at the price. (see what I did there.). I don't have the pocket clip issues that I see others having in the posts. I've carried mine daily for nearly 2 years now, but I keep mine in the breast pocket of my shirt. My issue is the flipper. It takes a bit of practice. And if my hands are wet, forget about it. I switched to this blade as I work in an office environment and received some comments about my other knives. I thought the "executive" knife would quiet some of those, and for a large part it has.

Beautiful knife, bad clip and quality control.

The good: Blade was very well done, came with a sharp edge Good action Beautiful knife The bad: Pocket clip won’t even fit over khaki-style pants, too much tension. Tons of small dents, deep gouges and sharp spots on the frame which had been coated over but were very visible Overview: beautiful knife, good design, abysmal pocket clip and worse QC than I’ve seen on even gas station knives. Won’t return it but absolutely would recommend that you go with something like the Urban Trapper instead.

well done blade, but body problems. returned.

blade is very well shaped, this is the s35vn. body issues, tho, are a deal breaker. first, as another reviewer cited, the clip is a total fail. insufficient flex, won't pull open for even a piece of paper, much less the fabric of my pocket. pulled so hard that the clip mounting screws' heads both flied across the room, bye bye. second (as also mentioned by other reviewer), when closed, the blade tip sneaks out just a hair and will get you or your pocket fabric. not gonna do for my EDC. again, nice blade. opens well, too.

Great value, but screws loose

Knife center had a great price on a knife with high quality steel, but boker needs to work on quality control. A premium knife like this shouldn't have loose clip screws.

Dissapointed

I purchased the "Knife Center Exclusive" Kwaiken Air Mini in S35VN from the Knife Center. As soon as I opened the box and got the knife out, I tried putting it in the front pocket of my jeans, but both screw heads that screw down the pocket clip popped off, causing the pocket clip to fall leaving the screws still in the knife handle. I assume someone at the factory over tighten them, cracking the heads. So now I have to find new screws for a brand new knife, that broke right out of the box... This is my first Boker knife and I was really excited about getting this knife. However, having it brake right out of the box (and I have a lot of knives, it was not user error) has left me disappointed in Boker. This will probably be the last Boker knife I ever purchase.

DISAPPOINTING

I'm sorry I didn't go with Am's review. He was spot on. My knife arrived with the clip missing a screw head, which was in the packaging. I will keep the knife because it is beautiful and functions great, just wont have a pocket clip. I don't know what's going on in the manufacturing process but it should be corrected.

Its unsafe when it takes two hands to open

This review is for the Full size Knife Center Exclusive Boker Kwaiken, not the mini. It's the worst opening knife I have ever owned. It literally takes two hands to open the knife. It is sad to have to rate this a 1 star as I have been wanting a kwaiken for a long time and have seen so many great reviews and videos of the great action. Mine however is not one of those. It is such a good looking knife but basically useless to put in your pocket and carry with you.
