S90V Blade What's not to like about this deal

Excellent knife with great steel and very nice handle it will be a lifetime knife for me as I know how to take care of my gear. KnifeCenter does have a good deal of excellent knives at very good price points.

S90v for a fair price

This is a fair knife for the price mainly bought it for the steel. I mainly bought this for the steel happen bought a poker a while but after some work and cleaning it is a pretty good knife a little on the heavy side but I did sand the corners on but my Carta and done some weight relieving on the liners after that it really is a good knife can't go wrong for the money

Break it in

This knife is very similar to the GiantMouse Ace Biblio. The Biblio is a bit shorter, has contoured scales and bearings. Out of the box, this knife is inferior to the Biblio, but also less expensive. I found the action sluggish and gritty. That was cured with some fidget time and lubrication. The edge was good out of the box but improved with a little stropping. After breaking it in, I find this knife to be a sturdier, larger, and slightly less ergonomic knife than the Biblio. If you are willing to break it in, the price (~$150) is fair. Maybe even good.

Rough out of the box

This knife had issues out of the box. None of the edges are chamfered on the blade or the scales. The knife was not very comfortable to hold or use. The flipper tab actually took skin off my finger and a firm grip using the finger choil was borderline painful. The biggest issue it had became apparent when I noticed chipping on the edge even though I hadn’t cut anything with it. I found that the edge was contacting the brass backstrap spacer every time the knife closed. On a positive note, the flipper action on my sample was good and smooth. I considered sending it back but I liked the design and materials and I’m not opposed to putting some work into it to improve it. I filed the inside of the backstrap to give it clearance and smoothed all the offending edges. Now the knife is extremely comfortable. The steel is good and holds an edge for a long time and gets very sharp. This knife has become one of my favorites to carry and use and I’m glad I didn’t give up on it. If it came this way out of the box it would be a 5 star product for me. I like it so much now I give it 4 stars even considering all the work I put into it. Out of the box it was a three star at best (mostly due to the inexcusable blade edge to backstrap contact.)
