Boker Plus Kaizen

I love this little knife so much that I purchased 4 of them for the family. This knife is so slim and sharp. It looks like a little work of art the way the knife is designed. I like the fact that it has a hidden thumb wheel to open it. I've given the knife to others & it's hard for them to deploy the blade unless previously instructed. I'm going to purchase another in the odd color just because It's my favorite EDC knife from Boker. I never leave home without it.

Discreet beauty

Small beautiful pocket knife that I use specifically for opening boxes at work or to cut through plastic bags. The blade is extremely sharp coming out of the box but will take precise sharpening methods since it is thin which is not a bad thing. It is lightweight which might cause you to check if it's still attached but I love how tight the clip grips to my pocket and it doesn't feel like it will slip out when I sit down. It comes with a storage case and s to to make adjustments if ever needed. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

Excellent little shirt pocket blade

I saw DCA review this and call it an upgraded CRKT CEO, and he was right. I got the black G10 satin D2 blade, and it’s a perfect office EDC that will easily fit in a shirt pocket and look like a pen, or inside a suit coat pocket. It would also make an excellent personal steak knife if you’re into that, and I intend to try it out in lieu of my Shun the next chance I get. Scale fit and overall finish was great. It has a deep carry pocket clip, and the detent on mine was perfect. The blade fires out and locks up easily. The only criticism I can come up with is that it would be even better if the super discreet flipper tab were just 2mm taller, to give a bit more purchase to your index finger, then it would launch with even more authority, without having to press as hard on the tiny flipper tab. This would also help folks like the other reviewer who got stuck with one with a stiff detent, as it would give more leverage. But it works fine as it is for me, and the small tab makes it look even more like anything but a knife. The blade on mine was very sharp and centered. Everyone is crazy now for the larger by 1/2” Kwaiken Air, and that’s a nice knife, but I think this Kaizen model is as excellent if not better in its niche, and a bit underrated and worth getting along with a matching Kwaiken, or the KC exclusive one.

Description

The only non-issue I have noticed it's in the written description above. It seems to indicate the belt clip being (tip-u/r), where it (thankfully) is actually tip DOWN, however still not reversible to be used properly in the left pocket.

Unexpected favorite

I did not have high expectations for this knife and made the purchase because I was looking for something light and slim that would carry well in the inside pocket of a dress jacket. It has become my EDC. My daily uses include opening mail and boxes, cleaning my nails, pretty light duty. Initially I struggled with opening this knife in a graceful way that didn’t make me look like a newbie. With a little fiddling the technique was discovered and it’s second nature now. The D2 blade was the other pleasant surprise. It arrive sharp, I mean really sharp and has held an edge much better than I expected. I don’t usually think of this blade material as being this good but it has surprised me. It has also been easy to quickly refresh the edge. Look at my uses and if yours align don’t hesitate you’ll be happy.

Sleek but with an unforgivable flaw

I really want to like this knife. The blade has a good profile. The scales are nice. It weighs next to nothing and is the perfect slim knife to not stand out. All of these things however are negated by the awful action. I liked the idea of there being very little of the flipper bar exposed, however the action is so bad that you have to wrench down on it with your fingertip to get past the detent. This basically makes the knife unusable for daily use as I have to murder my fingertip every time I open it.
