Snazzy Skinny Boker Zinker Urban Trapper Classy Carry

Finally got one of these, my some of the cheapest s35vn and thankfully not being a big seller so I can have an even extra cheaper blowout heh heh. I'd been remiss on Brad Zinker goods, only having the extra small Stubby version of these, but I call this thing an excellent gent/executive/restaurant carry. The paint job colors are awesome, I for one like the white resin but can see how people would say it "feels cheap" just due to how lightweight. Love the basically-classic Zinker Urban Trapper skinny clip point, and profile/design in general make for a flagship gent's item to round out my gent's options squadron. And just think, with a tougher steel I don't hafta worry about it chipping on the freakin restaurant plate while I'm cuttin the steak for cryin out loud

Not a clunker

Great knife. Really like this knife for a lot of the reasons I initially disliked it. The first is the action when you flip - there’s not satisfying clunk when it locks. It annoyed me a bit at first, especially when comparing it to the wonderful Boker plus kwaiken air. I kind of forced myself to keep with it and found a ton of things I really liked. First it’s super sleek and not bulky. The materials are great. The clip might not be your thing if you like the type that practically tear your pockets when you pull the knife. Also the quietness of the locking action became a plus for me when I didn’t want to use it to fidget and annoy everyone around me. Overall beautiful and nice materials. It is thin and sleek so probably not everyone’s cup of tea but not something I can mark against the knife.

Classy carry

Looked for this style for sometime. I had a gas station knife as a teen like this one. This knife is a much higher quality and I love it. Light, fast super cool looking. I worked in a business suit for decades and wish I had this then. Even lighter flippers would wear my pockets. This one I don't think would. Since getting this I can't put it down. It's just fun to play with. I know this review is kind of silly but gosh darn it I love it!

Love it

The knife arrived today, and it looks and feels great. Others may not understand the aesthetic; this knife is going for the look of a bygone era, and the handle scales should feel like Bakelite, but they don't. Instead of the cold, hard sensation of old plastic, they feel warm and slightly textured along the grain, almost like wood. The blue of the body and clip is dark, but stands out against the black of the blade. The knife opens easily, although it doesn't snap, which it should at this price. But it doesn't struggle to open, either, so there's that. The lock is easy to work, so it's good for left-handed users like me, especially if you have bad fingernails, too. The advertising on the blade is tacky, but I guess that's standard fare nowadays. The Boker+ logo is reasonably subtle, but the giant, bold "BZ" is obnoxious. It arrives reasonably sharp, but not so much that it stands out. The only real downside is that it's too pretty to use.

Very Nice Gents Knife

I've come to really appreciate CEO style gentleman's knives. After loving everything about my CRKT CEO and Boker Kwaiken, I picked up the KnifeCenter exclusive Urban Trapper. It strikes a very sharp pose in hand with the blue titanium, ivory resin handle and its black S35 VN long clip point blade. It really is a looker in person. It's also very light in hand, and a fantastic shirt pocket carry that you'll never notice until you need it. Holding it and closing it feels very similar to the CEO, with effortless access to the liner lock and perfect drop shuttiness. Overall I really like it. It's a very handsome, classy and very well made super light gents knife. My only two minuses are the pocket clip, and the lack of that crisp, snappy opening you get with a Kwaiken or CEO, hence the 4 stars.

Such a Pitty….

The clip sucks… overall so well designed… and the resin of the hand leaves as well much to be desired…

Great knife with an issue

I love this knife design, feel, & usability but my example has a detent like mushy oatmeal. A hard fart will cause this to open unexpectedly. The frame lock works well but no amount of adjustment will fix the mushy opening feel. A real disappointment for a potentially great knife. Come on Boker...

Great bargain with certain compromises.

Where ti start ? First of all, a great price for an S35VN blade. Mine came very sharp and nice finish. Open it is tight with no slop or "wiggle" at all. Opening is smooth and easy but lacks the precise feeling "snappiness" of some of my other flippers - this may improve with use ? Closing is easily done one handed, a bit too easy as once unlocked the blade likes to swing shut awfully easy. The handle narrowness typical of exec style knives means it is difficult to get your fingers out of the blade path, a problem I never had with my CEO. Could be just my technique, but I don't think so. The handle material is what makes the knife so affordable - in short, it is neither particularly attractive, nor does it feel very nice - too smooth and "plasticky". An unfortunate byproduct of making a knife with such a good blade affordable. The clip is, in my opinion, much too tight, but at least you won't lose the knife once you've finally got it clipped in place. Your pocket edges will not be thanking you. Is the knife worth the price ? IMHO, yes, but understand the sacrifices made to keep it affordable. Your call !

Meh. Disappointing.

Closer to a 2 than a 3 out of 5. Feels cheap and unfinished for the price. Not KC's fault, per se, just unsatisfying size, ergonomics and feel for the price. Recommend CEO or Kwaiken instead (I've got both).

Feels cheap because of cheap handle material

I wanted to love this Boker because of the blade steel, the KC exclusivity, and DCA's resoundingly positive review in the video...but the reality of the handle makes this knife feel like cheap junk - even if the steel is good. Because the handles are slick cheap plastic (aka "resin"), the knife is not a joy to use and simply feels like slippery cheap plastic. YUCK. I am incredibly disappointed by this KC exclusive and will be extremely wary about buying any KC exclusives in the future.
