An awesome knife for this price! Sheath is really good to. Only downside is the "tek lok" that it comes with. All in all a solid and sharp blade! By one!!!!

Hefty pack/outdoor/combat knife

This knife feels solid and secure in your hand. The grip has a nice texture while the back of the knife body has semicircle grinds to proved thumb and palm grip points. The blade is ground nicely, with a gentle curve, and the point is shaped decently for survival "work" like "light drilling" or fine details. The back of the knife has 90 degree ground portions, meaning I am able to use it with a fire-rod for sparks. The grip has 3 points where the grip can have lashing run through, though they are a little to small and poorly placed to act as the primary method of fixation, say for a spear. The "pommel" protrudes out about 1/4 inch giving enough exposed metal to be used as a hammer or to break glass. The sheath holds tightly, but the knife comes out smoothly when the right amount tension is applied. It has plenty of holes along the edge of the sheath to allow you to find a good position to attach it to your belt or to your gear.

Surprise - Par Excellence...

Fantastic knife which lends itself to a variety of tasks; it excels at at least four common grips or hand positions in CQC, it handles common cutting tasks with ease and the "clean" kydex sheath allows you to customize it as you would like for any EDC options...it just hits them all right out of the park. I have already recommended this knife to others and I will continue to do so for as long as it is available with this level of quality. Fantastic value at a GREAT price for such an excellent knife.

Excellent Value! Great Service!

Being familiar with the original American Kami version of this design I had some understandable reservations about the quality of a 440C production version with a price tag of $67.00. Upon receiving the knife I have been very pleasantly surprised. The fit and finish of the product is excellent and it came shaving sharp. The kydex sheath is also well contructed and retains the knife properly. This knife is an awesome opportunity to own (or test drive) a D.J. Urbanosky design without putting a hurt on your wallet. I also have to give a nod to Knifecenter. When I pre-ordered this knife last week the listed availablity was "October 2013". The Knife shipped on October 1 and was in my hand on October 2! I have purchanse many knives from Knifecenter and the customer service has been uniformly stellar!

picture doesn't do it justice

A couple years ago i decided to carrying a fixed blade knife and after looking into the various laws about length and such I started trying different styles and sizes but none seemed to "fit" till i got the colubris it just feel like it was made for me fits my hand perfect, completely natural to use, big enough to do a heavy job but not so big as to feel bulky on my hip and with the way i positioned the sheath on the clip it virtually disappears under my shirt I think I'm in love
