It's a Balicomb!

This thing is HEAVY, 142g compared to my lighter balisong trainer at 123g, but that's because it's real steel and built sturdy. The comb itself seems like an after-thought, with non uniform teeth that can scratch your scalp a bit, but it does comb hair just fine. Let's be honest, you're buying this to flip or practice flipping, and that extra weight gives it a nice swing (if you can control it from flying away w/ that heft). The joints are a bit tight for the first 100 spins, but when it does loosen up, it feels amazing! All-in-all, it's built well and works great as a [heavy] balisong trainer, and the metal case for it is the cherry on top! Worth the $ and definitely a great addition to the collection.

The ballisong itself is really heavy, but still nothing beats it’s clicking sound, it’s good quality and overall I loved it, great addition to the collection.

SO GOOD

10/10, PERFECT for beginners like me, its very usefull to defense. At First i thaught it broke bc it looks like its very loose so i Got scared for a moment but overall Very helpfull for beginners.

Decent trainer

It's what I expect from a $20-$30 balisong. It's floppy, it flips, it hasn't broken, and I've learned a lot of tricks on it. The good: -comb blade -good enough tolerances -heavy enough (mine is 129g) the bad: -slippery -stiff out of the box (it loosens) I love comb trainers. The teeth provide feedback - I can feel when I make a mistake. It's better than a totally-smooth training blade. It's not good as a hair comb, though, that was wishful thinking haha. The tolerances are floppy but good enough for training. Importantly the comb-blade stays clear of the handles so it never snags when closing it. That's better than my no-name $11 cheap trainer. When the latch is engaged the lockup is very strong and the handles don't move a bit. It doesn't jingle in the pocket either. The slippery handles are the worst aspect. It's a smooth-finished stainless steel. The texturing barely helps. My other balisongs have much sharper edges to grab. The latch gets in the way sometimes. I don't expect spring-loaded latches on cheap balisongs though. The washers were stiff for several days of flipping. Now it's loose now and flips smoothly.

Great for a starter!

It's a great concept but execution is a little poor when I first got it, it worked really well but after about a day of playing with it, it started to have quite a bit of play I would constantly find myself tightening it so after about 4 days I decided to use Teflon tape on the main screws and sure enough it worked. So I would say it's fair for it's price.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

So I bought this balisong as my first one for myself in a while and I was very excited to get it. Upon opening the balisong I was pleased with the overall look of the packaging and initial quality. Although after using it a reasonable amount during the workday the handle split in two! I was so shocked that it had broken the very first day I got it. What had happened was when I first started flipping the balisong I noticed it was a bit tight. But after using it a bit it started to loosen up nicely so I thought I just needed to break it in. but after a while it had started to loosen up too much and the weight of it had completely sheared the small screw holding together the two pieces of the handle. Later on the next day I had taped the handle up and it was working fine again until the exact same thing happened to the bite handle. After that I looked and sure enough the screw was sheared and I had to tape up the other handle too. Not even ten minutes after taping the other handle, the screw attaching the bite handle to the comb itself had sheared and the entire balisong fell apart. After that unacceptable and shocking incident I threw the piece of trash away and now I'm leaving this review. I should mention, I wasn't doing any complicated tricks at all. I literally only know how to do a basic open and close and a y2k. That's it. Anyway, just don't buy this. You really are getting what you pay for with this and it's pretty much garbage.
