good EDC

I use this knife as general purpose EDC. Light tasks in garden, open boxes or bags of mulch or compost. Knife arrives with the pivot locked down tight. No one told me that you have to adjust it to your preference, but once I figured that out, everything was fine. The send an adjustment tool with the knife. Blade is sharp and stays sharp does not discolor. Very thin profile. Blade length is just about right for everyday tasks. Very good all purpose, light use knife.

Love this.

Ordered this originally for my lady friend but decided to keep it myself once it arrived. She likes all the fidgety knives and ball bearing dime a dozen clone axis locks and cutesy pink, purple, donut handle color stuff. I will just pick her up a purple or pink GEO knife and she can deal with the axis lock springs needing replacement. And show it off to her lady friends. Or maybe a Spyderco Dragonfly tattoo knife. Since she is a tattoo artist. I am keeping this for myself. I don't need the fancy ball bearings and axis lock clones. Or need to flip my knife open 500 times a day like a YouTube reviewer. That just wears your knife out and ruins a lock quicker. I tend to laugh at these so called knife reviewers and have the mind to choose for myself what works. Instead of letting someone with pretty tiny hands tell me what's good and what I should buy. I grew up on Cold Steel and will always favor a back lock and Tri Ad lock. Because I care about my fingers. Now I get to try a German made Boker Kihon and Magnacut. Happy Birthday to me I guess. I really like the thin construction and lightweight on pocket carry. Folded over one piece steel handle and a solid back lock makes for a sturdy fixed blade. I carry a Cold Steel 4 Inch Voyager. And as much as I like Cold Steel. They really don't offer a lightweight thin knife like this. And can get crowded in your pocket. For downtown carry I am no fan of the Voyager. And can to imagine how much pocket space the Vaquero and larger models take up. Even their Atlas which is 3 inches long is a heavy pocket hog and leaves little room in pocket. I guess I am getting older at 53 now. But I just like a good solid lock. I tried all the liner, frame, and Axis locks. And they just have too many issues with lock failure and slipping. Anyways upon arrival this knife had zero blade play. Felt good in hand and pocket. And did not scream danger when I go downtown. I really enjoy the Magnacut steel and how thin this knife is. The blade is thin and very slicey. And easier to sharpen than my thicker Voyager. And it is just a beautiful knife and great for EDC.

Ultra Slim Beefy Boi

I'd been pondering the Boker Atlas for a while to add to my collection, then I found this guy! For an ultra slim pocket knife its built like its ready to handle hard use tasks. The integral steel frame does make it a bit heavier than expected, but this is the only draw back for something so skinny and yet so sturdy. The second I got this in my hands I knew it was threading a unique hybrid. Thin enough to disappear in your white collar attire while sturdy enough to handle some blue collar work. The drop point Magacut blade is a great shape and insanely slicey while the lockback keeps all the lines smooth and solid while at work. Thumbstud opening is a slow roll, not a quick flip, but I suspect this is a characteristic of the tight pivot and lockback mechanism. After carrying a lot of knives with quicker, fidgety mechanisms such as the Crossbar Lock, Shark Lock, and Snex Superlock, going back to a traditional lockback is just an adjustment of expectations on my part. Overall I'd highly recommend this knife to anyone who wants something ultra slim while being sturdy enough to handle real tasks. I've heard some equate it to a Buck 112 in size and ergonomics and I'd agree it'd fit that bill but with a premium Magnacut blade.

A lot nicer than I expected

Look, Besides for being Magnacut. This knife is excellent. Thin easy pocket carry, strong back lock, and comfortable handle. Yeah, Gimme a good old fashioned back lock over any liner, axis, or frame lock flipper any day out of the week. The build quality on this knife is excellent. And the blade tightness can be adjusted with the included tool. Pinned construction and really that don't bother me. As I don't want to always take my knives apart and risk missing parts or breaking something. And due to the build. It is easy to clean out with compressed air and a drop of versa oil on each side of the blade. And it opens quick enough. This knife will far outlast any flipper knife on bearings I got. And require less maintenance. Honestly, This is now my favorite knife for EDC carry and I for one appreciate the pinned construction, thinness, and slicing geometry. Enjoy those flippers ladies and gentlemen. I am good with the Kihon.

Perfect EDC

Thin, minimalist, one of the best steels available, great blade shape, and sharp as a razor out of the box. It takes up very little space when clipped to my jeans pocket. This is not a flipper, but it can be opened with one hand. Being thin, the handle does not fill the hand, but I did not expect this to be a heavy-use knife. Summed up, if this ever gets lost, it will be immediately replaced.

MagnaCut with thumb studs and a lockback - Nice

Thinner, but similarly shaped handle to a Buck 112 Slim Select, the drop point MagnaCut blade sends the Boker over the top against the 112 Slim Select. The Boker's smooth, lack-of-texture handle is classy looking, but slick. There isn't any texture, anywhere on this knife. Still, I like it, a lot. Dead-nuts centered blade that glides open easily with a thumb stud. The blade is recessed fairly far into the handle, making a two-handed pinch-and-pull-the-blade opening method feel less than sure-handed. A pivot shaft screw tool, came in the package, so someone could tweak the tension, I imagine. I haven't tried. I'm happy with the factory torque. Even though rivets are used for assembly (except the pivot screw), the lockback is most secure. No wiggle, in any direction. The pocket clip is shaped and tensioned, very well. Not a lot of fuss to slip it in a pocket. The heft, is heavier than your eyes would suspect. It feels like you're holding something of substance, but not heavy. I paid about 80 bucks, on sale. Getting a made in Germany, MagnaCut blade with a backlock for that kinda dough, was too hard to pass up. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Very simple design

Very simple. Very strong. No frills. The action was so stiff upon arrival I had to use both hands to operate it. I used quality oil and worked the action several 100 times with the intent to loosen it up. In the end I had to use the included tool to loosen the action. The lock bar works well but is so far back that unless you have sizeable hands, one hand closing is almost impossible. No jimping, or texture anywhere, makes the knife a little slippery for fine work. Blade is very nice, was sharp out of the box.

Thin, Slicey and tough.

I love it as a small edc. It isn't ultralight. Feels heavier than it is because it is handle heavy, throwing off the balance. The blade is very sharp and slicey. Magnacut let's it punch above it's class.
