Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Handle Material, Overall Quality
Cons: Lock Ease of Use, Pocket Clip
Mixed Feelings
First off I have to say that this knife is absolutely visually stunning. The Chad Nichols Damascus is beautiful and the handle has an incredible glossy finnish on it that looks just like a high end car paint job. The detent is incredibly light. This knife does not explode open with minimal effort. Slow opening appears to be the intended function although you can flick it open using the “wrist flick” technique. The major whiff on this knife is the liner lock. Access to the lock bar is terrible. There is no recess or opening to help you get your thumb in to unlock it. On top of that, the lockup is incredibly stiff to the point that the lock is actually painful to disengage and leaves a red mark on my thumb. Forget about disengaging this knife with one hand, it’s impossible. Maybe this will get better as the knife wears in…. I would highly recommend this knife if your intended function is to display it. If you intend on using this knife regularly I think the disengagement of the lock will destroy your sanity and leave you dissapointed.
