Pros: Weight, Handle Material, Overall Quality, Blade Material, Materials, Finish, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard
Very high quality and useful knife.
Unfortunately, the advertising pictures only show the engraved/spined side of the blade and buyers recoil in horror upon finding the reverse side hollow ground with no apparent edge.In truth,it Is sharpened on both sides. I had the same reaction after ordering the and reading reviews. Contrary to some reports this one arrived sharp -would shave arm hair and the edge is useful for slicing and the general run of non Combat ! knife chores.440c blades tend toward a more polished edge and the sharpness does not become apparent until you shave or actually cut something with it. At least one Cold Steel boot knife has the same odd ball half and half blade which may be practical. The spine side provides strength while the concave side keeps the blade narrow for ease of penetration. Flat side down make cutting chores easier than the obverse side with its more abrupt bevel. I would have given the tool a 5 except for the sheath. It appears to be a versatile belt sheath but is not a bit adaptable for wearing inside a boot. A strong boot clip would be a welcome alternative attachment method. The hardware pack had four bases and screws but only two rubber washers. I over-tightened one and had to back it with a steel washer. Since I wanted a three-point attachment, i found a steel lock washer for the third screw set.
