Outstanding workhorse EDC
I was extremely impressed with this knife. I love the particular shape of the drop point: almost a spear point, but with a big flat belly yet generous curve. It means you can do a lot with this knife: I carry it around the house or at work for packages, medium boxes, plastic wrap and zip ties, twine, etc etc, normal EDC stuff. The nice thing is the combination of tip and flat belly means it works well for scoring and paring, e.g. I have some soft wood projects and it's great for that. It's a big sturdy blade that holds up to a little bit of abuse. (Don't push your luck, it's not a prying knife.) The sheath is a little dorky, but professional and quite functional. The knife was sharp out of the box and held its edge well considering I was cutting wood with it. Seemed to sharpen up easily. I believe is my only 9Cr knife, but it seems like a good mid-range stainless steel, surprised I don't see it more often. Overall this is definitely worth grabbing, especially on sale. I love knives and have a big dumb collection, but this is a viable "only work knife you need" tool. A great gift, too, anybody will appreciate the quality.
