A Knew Knife for 110 Fans
This knife is great! I've got 8 110s, and this one was added BECAUSE it is so different. Buck took the 110 format, and swapped out the traditional scales (wood, antler, horn, etc.) for G10, and added a belt clip that eliminates the need for the traditional sheath. The end result is a Buck 110 pocket carry. Oh, and Buck added a thumb stud to assist with opening. This is not my fastest opening knife for sure, but really, I don't need split second opening all that often (actually, I've never really needed it). What I like about this knife is that I can proudly carry a buck in my pocket, which is perfect for when the belt sheath is out of the question due to dress code or simply space on the belt or stuff on the belt interfering with packs or seat belts, etc. If you like Buck 110s, the classic Buck, and you want something different OR you really would like pocket carry, then give the Lochsa a try.

Great for collectors... disappointing 200$ knife for use.
I ordered two of these as soon as I heard about them. Always loved the classic Buck 110 but was interested in this as an every day carry possibility since it employs modern features. It works well enough but modification would improve the functionality of this blade. The knife comes in a very nice box with papers etc as one would expect. However, I have a few problems with the fit and finish/design of this knife. For starters, there are significant gaps between the liners and lock bars on both of my knives. Secondly; the lock bar sits proud of the liners at the rear of the handle and sinks between the liners at the front of the knife. This causes a very short gap between the tip of the blade and the inside of the handle. I first noticed this when closing the knife and as it snapped shut there was an unfamiliar ting. Upon further inspection I saw a small nick in my edge had happened because of this. Such quality control issues are (I think) inexcusable for a 220$ knife and make me sad that Buck would put out a product with such an obvious flaw. Another fairly minor issue with this knife is because of how strong the spring is, how close the thumb stud sits to the handle, and the thumb stud's distance from the pivot; this knife will not "flick" open readily for me at least and is more difficult to open one handed than most thumb-studded knives in my limited experience. If you do not mind the quirks of this blade or are a collector then I would recommend it to you but for someone with a mind to use it (without modifying the knife) You have some issues to keep in mind. Everything I did not mention in this review is pretty much excellent but for the cost and the reputation of Buck knives these problems seem like something that should not exist.

not worth the price
I purchased the knife for my collection. I really like Buck knives and have a variety of them. However when I read about this one, S30V and G10, I purchased it. I always wanted one with those features. I can say the fit and finish is in no way, repeat, no way worth the price. My complaint is mainly the G10. It looks like someone applied a grinder to it, trying to shape the edges and make the rivets even on the handles. So you get what looks like burn marks on it. The knife blade is off center, and the opening/closing action is very gritty. I can't believe they priced it that high and did not ensure it lived up to the name and reputation. To me this is their flagship knife and should be presented better.

Beware ye All who buy this knife!
Boy were my expectations realistic! Buck really just meant for this one to go into display cases and NOT into the hands of users. When closed close to hard the tip of the blade hits the backspacer. The thumb studs are near totally useless as there is zero access to them from underneath. The studs are to small on top of it. There is a LOT of mechanical resistance when trying to open the knife which for the price the knife costs is unforgivable. Sure, the single brushed bolster and G10 are extremely nice so is the perfect pocket clip. The S30V blade is perfect but in the end the Lochsa is just another production knife slammed together with high pressure machines. Ive got 5 Custom Shop 110's each of which are hand assembled and far far easier to open and close. Save your money and get a Custom Shop 110 they are much better knives...
