Quality Knife
I had a Buck 40yrs ago when everyone had a Buck, and still have my 110. This 112 Auto is my new favorite. Unlike modern knives that are thin & light, this thing is a brick & feels like a knife should feel in your hand. Beautiful thick brass, ebony wood, and a strong stainless blade make everyone want to check it out when they see it. The timeless style looks just like my old 110 - minus the opening groove on the blade! This thing snaps open fast and loud, and is made in America. My only gripe is that the sheath snap is exposed on the inside and scratches the hell out of the brass.

I have wanted one of these since I was a kid in the 70's. Buck finally started making them! Mine came sharp with a well centered blade and solid lock up. There is no side to side blade play and the blade fires with authority. I have been carrying this knife every day for a couple of weeks now and have no complaints. A lot of people don't like the weight of these knives but I always thought that was what made them feel so good in your hand. If you are a 112 fan, you will love the 112 auto.

Dangerous - No Blade Lock
I love this knife. I have carried a Buck pocket knife all my life. This is a well-made knife, but you should not carry it in your pocket. The knife does not have a blade lock as most switch blades have. The trigger button can be depressed by something in your pocket or by brushing up against something that opens the knife and when you put your hand in your pocket you can cut your thumb, finger or hand - or worse. The knife needs a sliding blade lock. If it had one, I would carry it every day.

Had to add to Buck collection
I’m a Buck guy. Sure, I own all kinds of knives, but I have the whole line of Bucks from my great-grandad all the way down. Extensive hunters, lots of fixed stuff.
But this one—being the perfect pocket size (yes, a tad smaller than the one you remember) and well made—is definitely a daily pocket knife. I tuned mine up a bit and it’s awesome.
Just another knife collector here who can’t understand Spyderco… what’s up with them? I’ve only liked one of their knives, and that was a freebie from this site—a 1 1/2 auto, great for woodworking.

I recently picked one of these up, and was very impressed with the fit and finish on it. It is a bit above the standard bucks I own. Very nice presentation in the packaging as well. So far it has not given me any issues insofar as performance. I was initially a little wary of its size, as I have always been a 110 man, but it is every bit the knife the 110 ten is, just a bit shorter. Definitely has a solid presence in the hand. Time will tell on the action.

Awful switch
Knife doesn’t deploy as it should nor does it have enough strength to lock itself while doing so. Returning it sadly as I was excited to get this one.
