Response to you get what you pay for

The knife is a little stiff and hard to open at first. You can flick it open with a little forward momentum. Hold the knife as if you are going to throw a frisbee. Swing your wrist out at the same time with your pointer finger engage the flipper tab. So far I love this knife my only con is the frame lock is pretty stiff and banged my thumb nail up on the first couple days. I do like to fidget with my knifes so I probably have opened and closed this knife thousands of times by now so the thumb nail is my own doing but that's my two cents on this knife.

Handy knife

Well I got this at a bargain price I feel. It's not a flipper. It doesn't take much to open but doesn't fly out. Who cares. This has good size to it, aluminum handles somehow are grippie, frame lock is strong. The knife feels solid. This is a good working tool. It has a great look to it. Nice blade design. I difficulty would recommend this. I plan to buy two more as gifts. It is sharp, no wopple, center. $25 you get a real knife.

Buck 254 Odessa Flipper

Great feel, great weight, sharp blade! Some reviewer mentioned that it doesn't flip open well unless you have strong wrists... I guess I don't have limp wrists, because I can flip mine open. The pivot is a little stiff, but I was able to disassemble the knife, (Yes, it IS possible with tools) and after cleaning the pivot joint, applied some lubricant and all is working well! I was worried when another reviewer mentioned that the knife can't be disassembled, but I actually looked at the photos and saw the Torx screws, so it's very easy to resolve any issues.

You get what you pay for

I intended this to be my edc flipper. The knife is sturdy and sharp. It was also very inexpensive, especially for Buck. Unfortunately, the knife is extremely stiff to open. The flipper tab is useless unless you have strong wrists. I have lubricated the knife, worked it hundreds of times trying to loosen it up. The blade still only opens half way with using the flipper tab. The knife can’t be dissembled. If you buy this knife, don’t plan to open it quickly.
