Wasn't Expecting This!
When I spend as little as this on any knife, I don't have great expectations... But every once in a while a knife will catch my fancy by virtue of a single feature, or several; in this case it was the blade, the lock, and the scales. I don't use my folders for food prep, but cleaver type blades have become quite popular in the market recently, and this Buck HiLine ball bearing flipper with its pseudo-cleaver blade showed promise, with very little to be ventured, so why not? It's a Buck knife, after all...at least it's gonna be sharp! And it looked heavy duty! Sharp it is! AND heavy duty; the frame lock and stainless steel construction assures that! And the scale on the lock side of the frame prevents pressure on the lockbar when deploying! Though the detent on the flipper deployment is soft, the forward weight of the blade mitigates that to some degree, and I have found the soft detent to be common to Buck flippers (a la Sprint models), but not an issue to me; I just add a wrist flick! So, I got more than I bargained for on my 'bargain' EDC!
