Surprise

This is an everyday use knife; short but stout. I recently purchased this blade because I knew I could return it. I wanted to see for myself after so many mixed reviews. What I received has quickly become my go-to knife and it is shocking. the feel in hand is great. now I wear a medium glove so keep that in mind. The lock up is great and reminds me of the Kershaw Injection. even the feeling in hand reminds me of that knife- which I actually appreciate. It is much lighter, however. Also a plus. There are a bunch of negative stuff about this knife and I cannot speak on that experience. In 2018, this knife is amongst the best at the price range and you'd struggle to find a competitor that is a flipper with SV30. the most negative aspect is the notch to initial opening. If you play with it, you will reach a point where you realize its not about how much effort you apply but the action you use. it took a bit and I see people struggle with they first try. It works flawlessly and leaves me certain it won't open by accident.

Handy!

Light, holds edge, very we'll made. A little hard to sharpen. I am rough on a knife and this one has proved itself. I was a little hesitant with the S30V steel. I'm not the least disappointed now. I will be buying larger knife now for hunting purposes.

It will do for small jobs

Design flaw allows the blade to contact support pin in handle when closed.Needs a blade stop to prevent chipping of blade. Good steel, seems to hold an edge well. Shipping was spot on.

Not impressed

It's a great size and shape and feels nice to hold. And the S30V at this price is a good deal..however it's my second higher end vantage..and the second one which is slow to open and has terrible blade centering. You can tweak it to open decently but then it rubs the blade on the frame..the centering is really very poor..and when you get it even somewhat centered..It will not flip all the way open without a big whip if the wrist. I will keep it because I collect..but it won't see any carry time most likely and I won't buy another vantage. Also the video reviews online tell the same experience I've had.

Decent

I had high expectations from This knife, but i was dissapointed, it didn't come as sharp as i've come to expect from buck, and the pocket clip, Even though how well designed it is., was too stiff, and broke, just from me trying to bend it slightly. I Will be buying another of the select series, and swap the scales and pocket clip. So i can get ridd of those horrible G10 scales, which had poor fit and finish. And i wish they would have made the flipper a little bigger, just so i wouldn't cut my finger trying to open it
