The Buck 659 Large Pursuit Folding Knife
My first impression of the knife, upon getting it in my hands, was that its quality ranks somewhere in the mid-range of knife build; it is not a poor quality knife, but neither is it to be considered an above average quality knife. Its opening action is little disappointing, and there is a very sleight amount of blade wiggle, once the blade is locked in its open position. Such is bound to leave the user feeling like BUCK went a little bit skimpy on their attention to details with this design, although I appreciate its spine-lock feature. This mild criticism withstanding, I am not unpleased with my purchase, and have other knives at my disposal for hard use activities. This particular knife would not fall into the category of 'good choices for "hard use", in my opinion. It feels like it would be a good knife choice for an adolescent's first field knife. Regardless of how critical that sounds, I say it respectfully. It is a decent knife, just not a highly impressive knife.
