buck 870
a great looking knife, easy to open/close, but the handle really isn't that comfortable if you have larger hands. i loved the price of my knife though. I found mine in the street under an inch of fresh snow!

Great Value
Bought this knife on a whim when I saw the price. I was pleasantly surprised I must say. Extremely sharp and very comfortable for everyday cutting tasks. The only minor complaint was that it was very stiff to open out of the box. A drop or two of Tuff Glide helped quite a bit. It just needs to be broken in. Also wish it had an option for tip down carry. Other than these minor points, this is a heck of a value blade - solid quality.

Made in CHINA
Just purchased the Buck 870 Bones and am disappointed to learn it was made in CHINA! For the price, it should have been made in the USA!! I ready to return it for that reason!

Buck 870
Buck ought to be ashamed to put their name on this. WAY heavier/chunkier than it ought to be. Probably 40-50% heavier than the Gerber Paraframe it rips off. Not smooth opening. Have tried loosening blade pivot, relieving tension on frame lock, and oil, and STILL have to push the blade to locked position with my thumb (no "flicking" it open after initial push with thumb). This is a $10 knife masquerading as a $25 "Buck"...

Really
Difficult to open one handed if not impossible. Tip of tanto is blunt. Not the quality Buck touts. I realize it was made in China, but I have purchased many knives made in China that had a bunch more quality built in. Never again a Buck.

Cons: Weight, Handle Feel, Lock Ease of Use
Not worthy of the Buck name.
This was most surprising to me, as I expected at least a hint of Buck Quality…but alas, I found none. The flipper was extremely difficult if not impossible to deploy. The blade was dull. The steel handles were uncomfortable at best, and the blade was off-center when closed. Most definitely NOT a Buck!
