I will be using this knife as an all purpose pocket knife. It won't replace my small Swiss Army knife around the house but elsewhere it will be great. The blades are all exceptional: The main blade (clip point) is plenty long enough for most chores. The sheep's foot and spey are also useful. All blades have a solid, fairly thick spine like my Buck 110 (folding hunting knife); and like the 110 are nicely hollow ground. The main blade is not as sharp as the other two, but if a knife owner can't fine tune his or her knife he or she shouldn't be bothering with a knife. The over all design is beautiful: Both from a esthetic and functional point of view. The knife feels solid and substantial in the hand. This knife would be hard to beat at any price–and for the price paid: Impossible.
I carry the buck pocket knife every day. Open boxes, strip wire, cut plants, scrape, slice it does it all with three blades. Good looks and Buck quality make it a great knife. Just the right size for every day use.
Firstly let me say that the overall build quality, fit and finish, and materials are absolutely superb. This knife is gorgeously constructed, all the materials are top notch and the size and weight are exactly what I was looking for in a stockman. However I will be returning this knife due to the tension of the back springs, not because they're too hard to open, exactly the opposite, they are way too soft. The spring tension is almost nonexistent when any of the blades are open and even the slightest pressure causes them to close, to the point where you can ease the blades into the closed position with almost no effort. I was eagerly anticipating this knife from all the reviews I've read but it just doesn't feel safe to use at all.
Love the look of the rosewood color. It compliments the brass very well. All blades came sharp out of the box. Would recommend for anyone wanting a “classic” slip joint
