Followup to my last post

I contacted Buck and they said they would touch it up and not charge me the normal $6.50. Craig didn't offer free shipping and I didn't ask. I took it to a local guy who touched them up for $4.00. (I gave this post a five star to offset my three which I now think may have been a little too harsh.)

A perfect pocket knife

My constant companion: small enough that it is not annoying to carry, big enough for most tasks, good quality so it holds and edge. My only problem is forgetting it is in my pocket at Airports and losing it to security (only to buy another exact replica later).

Handy Friend

I have used this knif for many household choirs from opening boxes, mail, cutting electrical wires for my home media center along with using it for many cleaning up issues of clothing ....loose threads etc. This is my fifth and sixth knife of this size and type. I've lost the other four at security in different airports. I seem to forget to leave it at home when traveling. It's like an addition to my wallet and keys when I get dressed in the morning. I have also given this knif as gifts to friends.

Great skinner.

The 505 is the perfect knife for small game hunters, and excellent for field dressing and skinning squirrels, rabbits and birds.

Buck "Knight"

It has been years since I purchased my last Buck knife. It's sad to say, but the quality of workmanship is NOT what it used to be. It appears to be quality material, but the craftsmanship is not that good. The rivets are visible and the blade is not "tight" when locked open. But for the job of pocket knife, it will do. The blade was razor sharp right out of the box. I would not recommend this knife to my friends. The price was low, but so was the quality of the knife.

OK. Except for the rivet heads not flush.

Love it, But...

Great little knife but the two I purchased arrived dull. Not dull, dull but just a dull you wouldn't expect for a new knife. KnifeCenter says Bucks knives tend to be duller than other brands. Three stars seems harsh for a knife I love but it is a knife! I would have given five stars if it came sharp. I'm now in the process of trying to contact Buck.
