Walk softly and carry a big, BadA** machete!
When I pulled this Bad Boy out of it's sheath, I was totally blow away. The blade of the Baryonyx is massive, unlike any other machete you have ever seen! The sheer mass of the blade allows for some serious brush hogging, with minimal felt vibration and no blade flex. Handle and blade material are excellent, as is the workmanship of the El Salvadorian craftsman.The weight of the machete allows for serious chopping on softwood and it arrived super sharp on all edges! No sharpening stone included. So if you want a machete for BadA** showmanship, a machete that can do a days work and come back for more or a machete to protect yourself for when the zombies show up, this is "The One!" This machete is a serious tool, not a toy, so be careful using it! Great price too!

The Cadillac of machetes.
This is not your typical machete. It's a little shorter and heavier than the more commonly seen Latin machete. I wouldn't want to swing it for hours due to its weight but it cuts heavier thicker materials with ease. It came very sharp on both edges. Be careful not to cut yourself or anything else on a big backswing. Build quality is where the baryonyx shines. The blade, handle, and sheath are top quality. With proper care this blade should outlast you and your kids.

Great tool!
Great tool for chopping branches and clearing brush. The weight is a plus, this will cut thru 1 inch branches like butter! Use it to clean up firewood and burn slash.

Fit's the bill
Most of our property is wooded with a lot of yaupon underbrush. We are building a trail system and the standard machetes and small camp axes were not cutting it for me (no pun intended). The Baryonyx Machete is the right tool for bushwhacking an cutting the initial path through the brush. Works flawlessly in trimming small branches that encroach into the existing trails. I recommend putting a wrist strap on the handle before use. The Baryonyx Machete is very heavy on the end. A paracord or ranger band wrap will be added to the handle as well. Order processing was fast & efficient.

My wife and I have used the Baryonyx on all sorts of tasks from clearing branches to breaking down cardboard boxes and wooden pallets. The unique design gives it exceptional flexibility moving from hard use tasks to more delicate gardening oriented tasks. At the price point you just cannot go wrong buying this.

..Was not expecting the LEVIATHON that is this machete! A tour de force of a bushcraft tool..The finish of the blade is amazingly wicked. So much so my father ,upon seeing it replied,"You better send that back!" Haha! It Looks that cool!! AND the sheath is so massive and well made,it too can be a weapon in case the Baryonyx is ever haphazardly dropped!!! BRAVO!!!!

The design is the biggest flaw with this "machete". If it is an attempt to improve or even copy the old woodsmans pal the execution is poor. It lacks balance. The handle feels and functions like it was an afterthought. Just get a woodsmans pal.
