Great knife

Love the color, blade came very sharp and cut nicely. opening and closing is very predictable and smooth. Going to make a good addition to the carry rotation.

Excellent EDC

This is what Case should have been doing rather than trying to create modern flippers. The S35VN is a modern and superior steel over their stainless and carbon steel. This keeps the traditional pattern of the sod buster and makes it even better. I love the color. My daughter says it looks like a pickle. There are no sharp edges. It feels fantastic in the fans and is light that you forget about it in your pocket. I pocket carry this and I did gave one of the screws start to loosen up. Since they used screws rather than brass pins all you need is a T6 torque bit and back to business. If you’re a collector you can’t go wrong with any in this series.

Much better than expected

This is my first Case knife. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was more than satisfied with it. Unlike other reviews, my knife doesn't have a weird smell and it's grind is almost perfect. The tip is a little sharper than the belly, but overall, it's a really even grind. The look of the knife is great. I'm really liking the XX series and will probably start collecting these. I wish there was a half-stop when opening and closing, but that would be my only complaint. It's got a great feel in the hand. I can't wait until the handle starts getting worn in with a nice patina.

poor grinding

i welcome case’s idea to use better blade steel and handle material. But upgrading the material doesn’t mean upgrading the craftsmanship. The blade is unevenly grind and the knife tip is blunt. I may need to reprofile the blade. Case, please make some improvement.

Uneven grind

My grind was poor at best. Uneven and tip is non existent. Have to reprofile it. Case's grinds are very rough and done to a low grit. Not sure why but this knife also stinks. Literally. Like chemicals from the unsealed wood. Once I touched up the edge it was good to go other than the smell. Hopefully it wears off over time.
