Superb Woods Knife

I own some other pretty nice bushcraft knives and I use them all as often as I can; mostly for day-to-day tasks and occasional outdoor excursions. However, this one is my main go-to for true camping/bushcraft use. The K720 steel takes and holds a very fine edge and strops back to life nicely after being worn down a bit. It batons and fire sticks very well and balances very nicely. The grip shape is superb, especially due to the slight hump at the top of the spine, mid-grip; ZERO hot spots. The sheath is slightly above adequate but I'm a bit snobby in this regard as I make my own very nice, heavy-duty, wet formed sheaths for most of my knives. Overall, this is an outstanding knife, although, at least to me, the price is a bit high when considering the merely decent sheath. Regardless, I'll be proud to hand this knife down to one of my children when I kick the bucket.

Winner on all points

I have used and carried the Lars Falt for about 9 months now, and still cannot find a single area it does not excel. Since everyone makes a woodlore style knife, it's pretty much been perfected, and there's a degree of performance we expect from the proven design, and this knife delivers. AND it's beautiful to behold. If I had to dig deep for a 'con' it's the sheath. As good as many, but nothing spectacular. A sheath is an expendable, and in a few years I'll have something nicer made, but it does the job. With woodlore style knives running from slightly less than this, and up into 5,6 and 7 hundred dollars, this one is great value. I also use a LT Wright, and JackLore bushcraft knives, and this one falls right in the middle pricewise, but toward the higher end performance wise.

Very Nice

Great knife and scabbard. Scabbard is tight and well made. Knife handles well, nice heft/weight and balance. Handle is gorgeous. Highly recommended!

Superior fit and finish

If you have the chance to hold this knife, right away you will be impressed by the balance and feel of it. For sure no hotspots. You can use it comfortably for hours if you had to. Especially high class. Sheet protects the whole knife well. I do recommend the Casstrom dangler attachment as to make this the perfect bushcraft or hiking tool. Scandi grind is my favorite grind. Lars Fält spends more time outdoors every year than indoors. To have his stamp of approval on this very nicely made knife speaks volumes. The only thing that could possibly be made slightly better finish is the sheet. It is well made just don't think they finished it, Easily fixed with wax/waterproofing and a wooden stick to make edges look right. I highly recommend this Casstrom over any other knife out there right now this is the one to own and pass down for generations to come. I have owned two of these for 5 years now. Rocky

Great knife

Great knife, comfort handle and beautiful curly birch. Speipner steel has performed excellent so far and built quality is very good, the sheath is average, thicker leather than I expected but it does not have a fire steel loop, feels a lot like my aurora scandi.
