Pewter shaving mug - fantastic quality!

The mug is excellent quality. Looks just as good if not better than the pictures on the website (this doesn't always happen...). I bought it as a gift for one person, now I'm going to buy another one as a gift for someone else. If you're into retro-shaving... this is a must-have... it will last your lifetime, and then you can pass it on to the next generation.... It's just that nice....

Great mug a little pricey

Works perfect and is the exact size of the shaving soaps. I tried filling my sink with hot water and letting this soak but that does not work well. Using hot water on your Badger brush is a better option. I am sure I will pass this down to my son when the time comes. Heirloom.

The shaving mug accommodates different sizes of soaps

I am 53 years old, and have used a shaving mug, all of my shaving life, probably because my stepfather used a mug. With out a doubt, this by has been my favorite shaving mug. The pewter transmits the heat from the hot water in the sink, that's of course if one puts the mug in the sink with hot water I have used metal shaving mugs before, and of course they transmit the heat from the hot water, but they did not accommodate the variety of shaving soap sizes, nor look as nice. The Knife Center as always been excellent to deal with.

Love it!

I bought this for my dad for Christmas. He absolutely LOVES it. I bought him a porcelain one a few years ago, and he shattered it by dropping it on the first use. This mug is durable as well as extremely attractive.

Worth-the Money

Works great! Worth every penny spent. I cannot use perfume bars, so I use Ivory soap, by cutting the bars to fit the round shaving mug.

An Ideal Shaving Mug

I use this lovely mug for creating lather from both shaving soap and cream. The overall size of the mug, the width and depth of the bowl, and the seeming durability of pewter combine to create a most useful and attractive shaving mug. The reason I rated it 4 rather than 5 is because the mug arrived with a small surface flaw near the base. Yes, it is a small flaw, but nevertheless a flaw, and the Knife Center should have inspected the mug thoroughly before shipping it to me. I chose not to return it for replacement, since I noticed the flaw a day or two after I used the mug, although I think I should have.

Not what I expected

I ordered this mug because it was made of pewter. Solid pewter weighs enough that one should feel it hand. This product is hollow and weighs less than the mug I've used for years. :-(. I will use it but I am not as excited as I would have been had this product stood up to the weight issue.
