Shave Set
I use the product to shave with. The packaging was OK, but there should be a shaving brush with the kit. A person can pick up a cup or something to use with the brush, so it would not be that important.

Nice starter set but missing something
This is a decent starter set. It would have been better if at least a brush and some soap was included with the set. If someone was going to purchase this set because it came with the honing stone and the strop you would assume that they are just getting started and thus will also need the brush and soap. No big deal except for the fact that you have to order those items separately. As far as the set itself, it is a rather nice set. Since this is my first straight razor i can't really compare it to more expansive razors. The razor itself initially needs to be honed. Out of the box it is not ready to be shaved with. I am still working on honing it good enough to minimize the dragging on my face. The plastic handle is exactly what it sounds like, a light plastic handle. I'm very careful with it because it does seem rather delicate. I don't know that I would pay much more for a more durable, heavier handle. Overall, I am very satisfied with this starter set. Once I get really good at using a straight razor I can see myself upgrading to a better razor.

dull razor
I thought that the razor was pre sharpened. I had to work really hard to get it to a sharpness so it would shave really well.

The razor itself seems to be of decent quality. It is not a high performance DOVO as advertised but really a decent solingen model. The stone is garbage and hurts the blade. The strop is decent and gets the job done, though there are better strops out there overall id say just by the set separately. It seems pointless to go cheap from the getgo, and although this appears to be of high quality products, they all are relatively lackluster in comparison to some nice equipment of generally the same value
