This blade is the perfect EDC knife. It is a butterfly knife. That's important, it means that its strong and isn't going to fall apart under heavy use. Butterfly knives are known to be sturdier than any other type of folding knife. Secondly, its not a flipper. Most butterfly knives are made for flipping, which is the practice of twirling the blade around to show how awesome you are. This is not a flipper. This knife is made to be used. You could flip with it, but most people that like to flip a butterfly knife will not like this knife. Its too heavy, too sturdily built for flipping around like you're a 50's greaser. It is simply a rugged, sturdy folding knife with an excellent large blade in s90v steel. I don't know how you make an EDC better than that, unless they make a scandi drop point version which they should because these things might gain a niche in the bushcraft arena as the most reasonable folding knife for bushcraft use.
the blade is very sharp. bronze bushings are very good ,I have those on a few knives. the latch is very good design with the thumb serrations,, very good grip and locks very securely. the only complaint I have is the company has not responded to my very good reviews and I wanted to express my interest in continuing these balisongs ,,, not have this be a only production run. I tried calling and email . maybe its my computer connection or new company not yet settled in. too bad. VERY GOOD KNIFE.
Let me start by saying that I collect balisongs, so I think I can review this with a pretty decent comparison of others. First thing you'll notice is the handles are thick! The liners are double the width than on my replicant. The blade is decent but the grinds are uneven the bevel is sloped on one side. It still cuts very well and s90v is a amazing blade steel in a Bali. As others have said before this thing is much more suited to be a edc than a top tier flipper, with that said though it really isn't as bad as others have made it sound, I can still do rollovers and Chaplin's the same as any other decent bali.if your a perfectionist this probably isn't the knife for you due to the uneven grinds and the triangle on my blade looks like I child engraved it. But overall I like it, i collect these things so the imperfections don't bug me too much, for the price this thing is built like a tank , probably the sturdiest balisong you can buy nowadays. But the imperfections for the same price point as a Morpho or bare bones it gets 3 stars. If your a collector like me though it's worth having, last thing on this long review is, that you won't notice in the pictures but on the inside of the liner it says first production and the word legacy is engraved on the spine, it really gives it a hanmade feel. Well that's my two cents, see for yourself
I had really high hopes for this knife. Seeing it in pictures the thick handles and blade reminded me of a replicant. This is not a replicant. The spine of the knife is rather sharp. The knife would not flip, it was so stiff. Upon loosening the pivots there was too much play. Once I hit a spot where I could try to flip it, the handle (not the pivot area) came apart, sending the latch flying. I decided that since it had already torn itself apart that I should clean and lube it as to have some form of a flippable knife. Clean and lubed still flipped like a cheap clone. The blade was sharpened inconsistently. The finish of the knife is also poor. If they made this knife with better fit and finish it would be a d**n cool piece but as it stands it is terrible.
