Snecxcellent!

This is one the best bargains/values in an EDC knife currently on the knife market. I cannot fully describe how much I enjoy this knife as it does everything so well. The Snecx action is especially great-the opening and closing is very smooth and the blade can be flicked open and closed easily just using the lock action. It consistently opens and closes better than my Demko AD20.5 which costs just about twice as much. I really enjoy the cutting angle as I have used it to cut everything from vegetables to wood. You feel that you can apply more power when cutting downwards or chopping with this knife. The blade has maintained a great edge and is very functional in shape. I do like the handles as they seem to glow in the light and I often refer to this as my "ghost" knife due to this glow. These grips do provide a good grip as well. I may at some point attempt to dye these handles or look for an aftermarket replacement but for now they suit me fine. This knife is one of CIVIVI's best knives and if you are thinking about getting it please do not hesitate as the previous reviewer Keith B stated this knife does sell out pretty quickly. A fixed blade version of this knife would be very interesting as well.

The Budget King?

The Jade Natural G10 on my Demko AD20 made me fall in love with this material. When I saw that Civivi offered this material on the Vision, I knew the only thing standing in my way of owning it was visiting the KC website. Great service from KC, standard with ALL of my purchases so far (there's been a few to say the least). Now to this knife. There is no better choice at this price. It's got the superlock which functions similarly to the shark lock. Lock-up is solid. No blade-play. The blade shape is incredibly useful for everyday stuff like boxes, letters, etc. I wouldn't go batoning this thing into a 2x4 but honestly I think it would hold (at least the lock, you will probably snap the blade). The G10 Jade is gorgeous. Craftsmanship on this knife is impeccable for the price. Honestly, even though I own some knives upwards of 1k, this and my CJRB Pyrite are my users. The ones you don't gotta worry about if there's packaging gunk on the blade. The ones that are always there for you. I love this knife and CIVIVI as a company.

Supplemental Review

Having used this knife for a while now, I still love it. However, the edge holding of Nitro V seems to me to be about like that of Buck’s 420 HC steel. Which is to say that cardboard quickly takes the really sharp edge off, while still leaving a useably sharp edge for most uses. The good news is that a few quick stroke on the fine ceramic hone of my Worksharp Angle Adjust Sharpener quickly restores the edge, as Nitro V is just as easy to sharpen as 420 HC. In fact, Nitro V seems to perform in all respects like 420 HC. They both are extremely tough steels with quite good corrosion resistance and similar edge holding. For an excellent discussion of the properties of Nitro V, see the Knife Steel Nerds website on this subject. As to the natural G10 handle scales, I have discovered that they pick up stains. I used my knife after handling blueberries and it now has some faded blue areas on the scales. Maybe this is why G10 is usually colored. I would dearly love to see this knife in MagnaCut, but that might put it out of the price range Civivi seems to shoot for. I like the design of this knife so much, I am seriously considering paying $268 for a similar Snecx design from Civivi’s parent company, We Knives, with titanium handle scales and CPM 20CV for the blade (also available from Knifecemter).

An amazing knife at an amazing price!

Just received my new Civivi Snecx Vision FG Superlock. What a beautiful knife! The locking mechanism is actually a front lock but is much easier for me to operate than another front lock I have. I love the natural colored G10 handle scales that do a nice job of filling the hand for a very comfortable grip. I've never seen natural G10 before and wonder why more knife makers don't use it. The blade shape is really great. It is a nearly full flat grind and the angle on the blade essentially elevates the handle above a cutting board so that you could mince herbs with this knife very easily on a flat surface. It came with an edge that took the hair off my arm in one pass. The fit and finish are impeccable. And it has a deep pocket clip that works very well. It could easily become my favorite carry knife when I'm not wearing a belt for a knife in a pouch. This knife was probably designed as a tactical knife, but it is so beautiful that it would be highly defensible to a jury should you ever have to use it defensively. One reviewer who reviewed Russell's Lockback Wharncliffe Knife called it a wolf in sheeps clothing for this reason. So is this knife! I am looking forward to seeing how the Nitro V steel retains its Edge in use. It's first test will be slicing up a bunch of cardboard I have to get rid of.

Great knife!

I bought this after glowing reviews by at least two "knifetubers" and my previous experience with WE and Civivi knives (I own two others). I also like the look of the natural jade G10 so I wanted to add that to my collection. Finally, I try to vary my knives by locking mechanism, blade steel, etc... and this was my first "Superlock". Man, it does not disappoint! Outside of one frame lock I own, the Superlock probably has the strongest lock up. The action is silky smooth and using the thumb studs to deploy in any way (slow roll, front or reverse flick), it has a completely salivating "ting" when the lock engages. I've never been that concerned about the sound my knife makes, but I may be changing my mind now. The blade is gorgeous, very thin flat grind and slice-y, with a beautiful satin finish, and the factory edge is razor sharp. The handle is comfortable and grippy, I have size Large hands and it fits perfectly and with the generous finger choil, there's the option to choke up on it. For the price, this is an incredible bargain. No wonder they can't keep them in stock. The one negative, that may change with time, is the spring on the lock is so strong that deploying the blade by pulling back on it and wrist flicking is a little painful if fidgeting with it, but for occasional use, it's not a big deal.

A plus over the WE Vision

Great design with it being fidget friendly and the ambidextrous Super lock. I really like this design and it fits my hand well. The clip belt moved to the standard side makes it nicer in the hand. This does feel heavier than the WE Vision.
