Praxis Flipper

This is a well-made pocket carry. The CroMoly blade is blackened to help with corrosion and really adds to the look. The shredded carbon fiber with gold flake scales are very beautiful. The blade deploys on ball bearings and locks easily into place with neat click. Jimping along the spine is minimal, but the handle is plenty big, making it less of an issue. There's a generous choil, making folding feel more secure. The clip is perfect with just the right amount of tension.

WE/Civivi just fails miserably with carbon fiber/shiny scales... :(

24 August, 2022 - Let me start by saying that when I purchased this knife, it was my 5th Civivi Praxis (I have different blade/scale combos). Needless to say, I'm a huge fan of the Praxis! I was really excited by the new carbon & gold scales so it was an obvious purchase. Well, when it arrived I was utterly disappointed. Again Civivi let me down with their failure to polish their shiny and/or carbon fiber scales. I've had this issue with the shredded carbon fiber WE Kitefin, and the Civivi button-lock Damascus/shredded CF Elementum. I decided to keep my Kitefin but had to spent about an hour finishing/polishing its CF scale. But I returned that CF Elementum (for the record I have a cuibourtia wood/Damascus flipper Elementum, and copper/tanto flipper Elementum which I just love), just like I returned this Praxis. And it wasn't just the lack of finish on this Praxis' scales, it's also that (ironically) they are really plasticky and totally look cheap/cheesy. These are way more clear plastic resin than CF. Not classy like they appear in the photos. Standard G10 Praxis scales exude *way* more quality and actually feel much better in-hand than these scales. The Praxis is still a truly exceptional knife, but these scales are horrible.
