The Ria deserves a review
But I hesitate to give one when I am new to knives. But I have recently bought several from KnfeCenter.com, one of which is WEK2004B: 2004B Ben Petersen Banter Folding Knife - Black. In comparison, the Ria is not as sturdy nor does it pretend to be, it's a smaller knife of course. And I don't know enough about the materials to compare them properly. But I tell ya, the Ria is a pleasure to hold. It's thumb stud mechanism is quick. The handle material looks sharp, although perhaps too slick to use the knife carelessly, or to stress it with a job not suited to its dimensions. The blade shape I personally like, it is kind of fascinating to look equivalent to the We folding knife, both cutting magazine/catalog type paper without a hitch at the start, and without tearing along the way. I can't say the same of say a traditional folder maker's offering at a higher price. How do I use the product? OK. Open envelopes, but I wouldn't use on a cardboard box, I'm not sure that style of knife is suited to that task. Actually, I'm not sure how I'm going to use any of the knifes I recently bought here. I have ideas though, and hope they come to fruition. The Ria more than met my expectations.

Excellent action, great shape, good price
The Ria is an excellent, office-carry knife. This version with carbon-fiber scales feels super slick and slides in and out of slacks very easily. The clip is shiny and looks like a pen clip when sitting in your front shirt pocket. The construction is better than expected - it feels solid with the steel liners. I enjoy the drop-point shape of the blade, too. It's short, but with some belly. The best part of this knife is the action. I had to play with it a little bit in the beginning to get the hang of it, but the blade flies out with ease. Very snappy and fidgety knife, perfect for office-carry, and a great price just over $30.

I love this little knife
So I'm going to start by saying I love this little knife, so knowing that you will understand that the rest of this come from a place of appreciation. Frist, while carbon fiber sounds cool for a handle material, it's VERY smooth so doesn't give a really secure grip. Looks good though. As for the blade, I LOVE the blade. It's made from a really solid steel and the shape is wonderful for EDC. Seriously, the most important part of the knife (the blade) they knocked out of the ball park. Couldn't ask for more from a knife at this price range. I genuinely love carrying this knife specifically because the blade is great. How is the action? Not gonna lie, opening this knife smoothly takes some practice. You have to get the angle just right to get a clean flick. Once you figure that out it's fine, but it's takes some practice. The only thing I don't like about this knife is the liner lock. There really is no safe way to close it with one hand. You can do it, but it's risky. The only way to close it with 100% safety is to do so with two hands. Personally I don't mind that because this knife is small and light and is a joy to EDC, so using two hands to close it is fine. Overall I think this knife is a great value for the money as long as you understand what you are getting.

Quite an excellent knife. The only reason I did not give it a 5 rating is because thumb deployment is very difficult for me.

Looks great. Good blade shape. I found the thumb stud hard to use, either the stud is not long enough or the cutout in the handle is not deep enough. The lock is hard to use as well for me. I find I need to use 2 hands to open and close and do not feel confident I will not cut myself closing it. If returns had free shipping, I would send it back. Fwiw, I am more used to spyderco’s thumb hole and back lock.
