A Good, Tough Knife for Everyday Use

I have a small farm and my EDC knife has to cut open bags of feed, cut through rope and twine, etc. My knife gets wet, muddy and beat up. When I first saw this knife announced I knew I had to have it and patiently waited nearly a year for it. Well, now I have it and I've put it through its paces for a couple weeks. It's very similar to the Kizer Sheepdog (which I love). Although the Sheepdog is only slightly larger in length and width of the Tigris, the Tigris just feels better in my pocket. The Sheepdog just takes up too much pocket real estate for me to carry every day. So as far as EDC, I like this Tigris knife better. That said, the flipper action of the Tigris is nowhere near as satisfying as the Sheepdog. Although the Tigris is nice and smooth in its action, it doesn't have that same "clunk" sound of the Sheepdog, nor does it have the same kinetic feel when flipped opened. Still, the Tigris flips nicely if not as smoothly. The Tigris does, however, outperform the Sheepdog in hand-feel. I like the grip on this Tigris better and feels much more secure in my hand. I do, however, hope that one day they release a version with a micarta grip. The G10 just doesn't have as much life to me as other materials. As far as the blade goes, it is perfect for my everyday needs. It cuts smooth and clean and stays sharp the entire day. So far it does not show any signs of rust even though it gets wet quite often. For a $60 knife, this is a great performer that I am not afraid to beat up.
