Surprised by the quality
Thought I would try a button lock design and the CJRB brand. Ordering was easy and shipping was fast. Boy was I surprised when it arrived. It came in a nice box with a lined zip case but the quality of the knife blew me away. It’s a really handsome piece with the slate blue G10 scales, stainless deep carry clip and steel liners. The handle fits my large hand perfectly and the weight is spot on. The blade is similar to D2, was sharp out of the box and centered perfectly. Sliced paper with ease. It opens and closes so fast and smooth using the button and locks up tight. No side play in the blade. The thumb studs are comfortable and not too wide. Perfect for EDC and as a show piece. This is a NICE knife!

Excellent EDC Knife
Out of the box the open action of the knife was so super smooth, I almost thought it was assisted. Fits and feels great in the hand. The AR-RPM9 steel had a nice sharp edge straight from the factory as well. As soon as it was in my hand I was opening and cutting down boxes with it. I strop it every evening when I get home and it's been working like a champ. This was my first button lock knife and I am SOLD. Solid lockup. No play in the blade at all when open. I may have to get another as a backup.

Great knife
I just purchased two of these as well as a couple of standard Bugouts for Christmas gifts and of course I had to open all of them up and check them out. I am super impressed with the Pyrite. It is much easier to deploy and stow the blade, super sharp (so are the Bugouts) and excellent fit and finish. Super smooth opening with either the thumb stud or push the button and a slight flick of the hand. Same with closure--push the button and gravity closes the knife. As a further comparison I pulled out my EDC, a Bugout 535-3 (S90V steel and carbon fiber scales) that I have literally opened and closed hundreds of times (and I do love this knife) and the new Pyrite was much easier to open and close. CJRB has a real hit with this knife and I certainly see why it was the Knife Center's #2 best selling new knife of 2022.

WOW! Perfect fit and finish right out of the box!
I must say first off, I am a knife guy. Over the years I have owned many pocket knives. When I opened this box I was stunned! I bought the CJRB Pyrite with gray handles, and was astounded by the fit, finish, feel, and awesome sharpness! This knife beats or (I hate to say it) exceeds much more expensive knives. (Benchmade, Spyderco) at a great price. This is my new EDC..

Actually purchased directly through manufacturer's website. Sorry KC. In lilac pink. With "sand polish" ar-rpm9. A very attractive g10 and polished powder steel. I am impressed by how much knife you can get for $50. Action is a little unique in my experience with the button lock. It is excellent figity fun. No, not the professional and positive snaack I love in my griptillian, but snickity. Thumb hole is not located perfectly for my large fingers/hand. It could be a 3/16 inch closer to the pivot and larger. The detent is positive but is overcome by a light pinch push or a squeeze of the button. Deployment to lock seems automatic because I don't have to try to release the button before the lock in order to avoid the bounce back shut. The blade seems to 'know' that I mean it to lock, so it does! That must be hard to engineer and manufacture. What a treat. Polish is bright. Jimping on the spine, ahead of the pivot is reassuring. I never use finger choils, but in this case, I might make an exception. Sharpening should be a breeze. We've all gotten to know ar-rpm9 by now. Competent tool steel that could hold an edge longer...but hones up easily. Overall weight is light without feeling toylike. Lightening is to the point of skeletonizing the liners. G10 is thin. I expected to hear 'echo' as I rap the scales with a fingernail. Nope. Maybe because there's almost no liners left. Maybe it's epoxy.. nah .. but there are only 2 screws/polished standoffs. Pocket clip is standard cjrb small, deep. It's ok. I love to knot up my own lanyards and I will look for a color to compliment the lilac pink g10.

The Detent is so weak that you can lightly shake it and it falls open. This is huge problem and it has opened in my pocket twice and bit me. That is the only issue I have with this knife. Maybe its just a lemon? Not sure if I should send it back. I have several cjrb knifes really like them and was hoping this would be similar.
