Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Finish, Materials, Weight
Cons: Handle Material, Overall Quality, Sheath/Scabbard
Fatally flawed
The blade itself is excellent. The grind is even and a nice convex. It has a smooth and even distal taper. It looks like it could do some damage to light brush and even some thin saplings. The sheath isn't anything to write home about, but it holds the blade well and snug without making it hard to draw. That's where the good ends. The handle is awful. I was expecting a fairly round handle as traditional dha/darb have them, but this is worse. The handle is oval shaped but in the wrong direction! It is Instead of indexing so that the scales help to align your grip and keep the blade straight, they're shaped in such a way that holding the blade with the flat forward is more comfortable. It's mind boggling, really. Why they would have it narrower edge to back and fatter flat to flat, I can't fathom. If it weren't for that, I'd give this 5 stars, but with this it's basically unusable and unsafe. It doesn't even work with a pinch grip because of this. I've written to Condor to see if this is intentional or I just got a weird one. We'll see what they say.
