FANTASTIC!!

GREAT SELF-DEFENSE or Walking stick carving blade! Very well built, easy to sharpen! The sheath once broken in has a perfect withdrawal function. Very happy with this blade!!

Cons: Blade Sharpness

All Pokey, No Hokey

The tips is very sharp, however the "corner" between the two edge levels appears a bit more rounded over than the top of the grind. It also looks a bit asymmetrical from side to side. It is no doubt a difficult grind, but if i'm paying a cool hundo for a small piece of 1095, the grind should be pristine.

Speaking of that...

Not a scandi. It's close, but convexed at the edge, which is probably how that interior angle got rounded off a bit. But who cares if its sharp, right? Lol it's not sharp. I took the catalog Condor always includes, which is rather stiff paper, an easy test, and it couldn't cut it at all. Deflected or tore it all along the edge. BUT when I used the tip to start the cut mid page, it did manage a cleanish cut.

The sheath is great. Detachable loop, good space for ulticlip. Very solid tension fit, audible click.

My takeaway- if you saw scandi, a fine tip, and thought this would make a great carving or whittling knife- no. Not without a lot of home modification. If you thought, gnarly self defense shank? **** yes it is. I never get mugged because I look like poor ***** ***** (am) but I would certainly consider it to be good in a defense application.
