Awesome

Condor has stepped up there over all quality and it shows with this new machete! Handle fit and finish is near perfect, blade was sharp out of the box and the sheath was a pleasant surprise. very happy with my purchase and the price.

So good I ordered two

Back when surplus stores had good surplus I chanced upon a Chinese machete for $5. It was ugly; but with some modifications, I used it and liked it very much. Gave it to my brother-in-law and bought another for $8. Made the same modifications. Over the years I've wanted a couple more but can't get them. Yes they're still made - just can't get them. Then I decided on the Condor -similar shape but more refined. Ordered two and waited six months and was told they can't be gotten. Searched the internet and came up with these that were delivered post haste. Mind you, I already knew these were no longer in Condor's catalog but desperately wanted them anyway. Was very fortunate to run across these. It is one of the best designed machete on the market. Not as heavy as the Chinese model but much better ergonomics. I have a lot of Condor blades and like them all; though some better than others. I bought two of these fearing they may never again be available. And, yes, I still have the Chinese blade as well. The Condors come with a canvas sheath one of which is a bit tight in the neck. Had to force the handle through it and assume it will loosen over time - or maybe I will widen it. Unlike the majority of Condors that have leather sheaths, I suppose the Aussie machetes are supposed to appear more like the originals. That's fine. I can live with that; though I like Condor leather. These are my basic mainstay machetes of choice though I own several different types. I may get desperate and order a third just in case.

Real machetes for real work

Considering how dreadful the machete I picked up at the store for $20 was this is worth every penny. The shape is perfect with a nice belly for slicing and just the right weight. The handle is a bit big for my small hands but I think for most men it’s perfect for this type of tool. I also like how this is clearly a tool and not so aggressively shaped as many modern machetes are. I don’t want to scare the neighbors. I just want to clear brush.
