Excellent blade

Well made and sharpened. You will have to finish honing the edge to your preference but that is not a drawback.

Love it!

Used in the yard. It worked well. Much, much higher quality than my Cold Steel Kukri. Comfortable handle. Blade pretty rigid. Finish held up well. Right weight, sturdy. The machete doesn't stay in sheath snugly, but it is such a good, high quality sheath that I don't mind. I never attach to belt anyhow.

sturdy and sharp

This is the first machete I bought and I overestimated how much tool I'd need. My yard is tame by comparison to this blade. The weight and length is suited to clearing paths for Rama of the Jungle, bwana. That's not the blade's fault, however. It is a fine piece of work. Heavy and solid and comes out the box sharp. It's ideally suited for my son's yard and has served him well.

Definitely one of the best I ever owned

It has great weight to it and a good balance. Blade comes out of the box ready to use. I use it while hiking and camping.

Condor El Salvador Machete

Bought this a gift for my son for helping me out. He loves the condor El Salvador machete. It is tough and he put it through the paces cutting up limbs. I tried it out myself and it fits nice in the hand and cuts well. Of the machetes we have bought, this is the best.

This is a beast

This machete is really solid and heavy. It’s got a thick blade with a heavy black protective finish and a very comfortable grip that stays in your hand. It has a deep ground edge but not very sharp from the box. About 30 strokes with my Lansky diamond sharpener and it’s as sharp as a razor. I slipped while sharpening the front of the blade and put a deep cut in my thumb. I probably needed two stitches but my first aid kit stopped the bleeding. That’s when I knew it was sharp enough! This is a great value for the money and I think it’s a great machete for self-defense and the outdoors.

Great Chopper

This is my second Condor Knife and Tool product, the other being the awesome golok. Both of these blades went beyond my expectations. Excellent fit ans finish, nice thick stock, good handle ergos. The machete is a little heavy so its better suited for chopping.

El not to bad

Everything I buy I put to hard use. This machete fits its sheath like a glove. Nice leather, and the blade is pretty thick and solid (for a machete). The handle is ok, but did not like the thickness, its a little too thick and rounded, and I use a XL glove size, plus its kind of slippery for something this size and weight. Thinking about modifying it, maybe file down some plastic off the sides and put checkering on it. It came sharp, and its strong enough to chop down small trees. Over all great woods tool, but my gripe is the handle. Shipping took a whole week to get here..but whatever. Great price!

Great machete, wrong sheath?

The machete itself it beautiful and sturdy as hell, but I was greatly disappointed in the sheath it came with. The sheath itself is of great quality, thick leather and all, but it came separate and it was just too tight for the machete! I thought it was just because the sheath was new and had to be broken in so to speak, and after several attempts to force the blade in, I decided to cut up the opening of the sheath a little, which I thought would be enough, but actually, the whole sheath is just 2/8'' too small and now I can't return it! So make sure you got the right sheath.

poor quality. Beware of "I love it but haven't used it yet" reviews.

this is a rather more expensive machete (compared to Tramontina) and it costs more than Ontario machete but it's not as good. The carbon steel is softer than it should be. I used it to hack some brush and soft wood branches up to 1" in diameter and the edge had significant dents and rolls. The black coating on the blade is just cheap paint. It bubbled and peeled right off. the handle is only good thing on this Machete. I don't recommend this machete. Beware of misleading reviews like the one below: "I have not used it yet but the Quality of the Machete is great". LOL! Anyhow, I don't recommend this Machete and based on my research, Condor is not know for good quality control. Get the Ontario machete instead, it's made better!
