Short but stout
Condor products are well made. This little shovel is no exception. It's small but the right size for a pack carry. the face of the tool is fairly flat and not very concave. The "sharp edges" enable the shovel to dig very well. The handle is very stout wood and not likely to break easily. But the shovel head is connected to the handle by a metal pin and would be difficult to remove in the field in case of handle breakage. I have not tested this tool's chopping ability other than some light bush, which it preformed adequately. The tool comes with a good sheath. The tool materials are excellent, the shovel is a bit overpriced, but I am happy with my purchase.
