A good choice

This is a solid choice as a belt knife or bushcraft blade. The blade geometry is ideal and the handle is comfortable and accommodating to larger hands. The sheath is high quality that lives up to the reputation of Condor products. The spindle divot is in my opinion a mostly unnecessary and useless feature. It’s hard to use while the blade is sheathed. This is a problem as I would not recommend using the divot without the blade safely covered. I’m most likely going to remove the metal divot and fill the cavity with something that will embellish the handle. A nice piece of polished tiger eye perhaps.

Good, but...

I was excited to get this blade, Scandi grind, 1095 steel, and the bow drill divot, all for just over 60 bucks. It seemed a solid deal, and I liked the look of it as well. But since I recently taught myself how to actually use a bow drill to get a friction fire, the drill divot was a major part of why I bought the knife in the first place, and after busting one single coal the ultra secure glue they used to attach the divot gave up and out it popped. It was only dumb luck that I even saw the tiny piece of metal in the foliage. I am not a hard core survivalist but I was a bit ticked off that a key piece of this tools survival utility was held in with wanky glue. I plan on putting in a couple of screws overlapping the rim to hold the piece into the handle scale and that is not a big deal, I still like the knife but I know there are people more serious about survival tools that might appreciate this information.

survival knife

I was looking for that one go to knife for everything and I thought this could be it. mine came shaving sharp. at first glance I just wasn't as impressed as I thought id be. but it is growing on me, the handle isn't as comfortable as I wished it would be. the bow drill hole kind of interferes with my grip. im thinking about filling it with cotton and wrapping it with good tape. you cant use the bow drill while the knife is in the sheath either. the sheath is actually nice, you can use the edge of the sheath to strop the blade which is pretty cool. the wood handles were bone dry so I had to really oil them well. overall the knife seems super tough and sturdy. I really want to see how well it will perform basic bush crafting tasks. but im not a bush crafter. yet! I want this to be the one and only survival knife id need but im just not sure about the handle. I have a mora spark and in my hand it feels so much better than the Wayfinder. that da** bow drill hole
