Stout, sharp and camp ready

I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect when I ordered this knife, other than the quality and character that I’ve come to expect from Condor. There is scarcely a review to be found anywhere online. You might think from the pics that this is a showy knife, but maybe not the most useful. You’d be wrong. Yes the blue and black micarta scales are handsome. Yes the polish on the blade shows some really cool vertical striations, but there is much more to this knife than looks. Once you have it in your hand, you know it wants to be put to work, not in a display case. It is heavy. I mean especially for its size. So if you’re looking for a nimble knife, please move along. That said, I do not find it unwieldy at all. It is going to chop and baton like a beast, but I see no issues with finer work such as making feather sticks or whittling or tomato slicing either. Should make quick work of steak or venison as well. It throws sparks from a larger bayite ferro rod very well and it batoned through old hardwood with relative ease for me. The true field test is yet to come, but based on what I’ve seen so far, it should do well. This is the priciest Condor knife I have purchased and there is quite a bit of competition for it out there, I know, but it’s a Condor through and through and none of my other knives, not my Laser Strike, my BK9, my OKC SP1, nor any of my Kershaw camps, feel as good in my hand as this one does. It just feels “right”. I’m not sure why it is lost on the island of misfit toys, or why nobody has really reviewed it on YouTube, but that may change soon. I’m seriously thinking about doing it myself. This knife deserves to be known. The Kydex/Leather sheath is well done too! If you decide to get one, you won’t be disappointed!

A great knife at a great price

I was looking for a high quality carbon steel 5 inch blade for hiking and camping. The blue havoc met all my needs. The knife arrived shaving sharp and after a few weekend camping trips it kept its edge. I worked it hard and it handled every task without any problems. This knife exceeded my expectations and is worth every penny. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a good knife at a great price this is the one.
