Awesome Chopper

Built like a MAC Truck. The Blade is nowhere near paper cutting sharp however with this type off weapon a Axe grind will serve best. My first choice for Mayhem. Merriam Webster definition of Mayhem, 2a: willful and permanent deprivation of a bodily member resulting in the impairment of a person's fighting ability b: willful and permanent crippling, mutilation, or disfigurement of any part of the body.. Also handy for sword breaking, you can use the flat side or the back bone to avoid a mess. The only downside it weighs 3.4 lbs that takes some muscle to wield it.

The sword is nice. The sheath was the only thing that needed improvement. It had a smell like it had come out of storage and was a little loose, slightly different color from the rest of the condor knives I have. A little mink oil and good as new. Overall very nice

The Ork Bane! The Goblin Carver! The Bitter! The Crackhead Cleaver!

Bought 2, cause i duel wield, one of then measured Blade 20 1/4" Overall 32.1/4, the other Blade 19 1/4 Overall 31 5/8. Took one out side chopped in to a hard target (tree stump) just like butter, bites like an axe, carries like a fly swatter. Perfect for the duel wielder quick and agile, handle a bit slender for my taster fattened it up with some para cord. Don't expect a zombie outbreak but....damn with these blades in my hands....7 billion zombies is just a warm up! now for a pair of tactanas!!!! Anybody say double bit! CONDOR!!!!!!

Knifecenter.com was superb!! I ordered this sword from another company and 3 months later I still didnt have it. I cancelled the order with that company and called knifecenter.com and had the sword at my door two days later!! Also the Condor Tool & Knife company is AWESOME!! I have several blades from this brand such as the Golok and the Parang and love them all and have several more I plan on getting in the near future including another sword just to have two! As far as this particular sword, everything about it is perfect. However in looking at the picture I thought it was black powder coated like the others I had from Condor. When I recieved it I was holding a sword that was shiny raw steel and was extremely mad and was getting ready to call knifecenter.com and raise hell that I didnt recieve a black powder coated sword like they showed....but in looking at the picture again and actually READING the description I saw that it says raw steel and no where does it say anything about being black powder coated. Even looking at 5 other sites I couldnt find anything about being powder coated. So that was my own fault making an assumption from a dark picture. It is an awesome blade though and I will be buying a second one soon. Keep up the good work Knifecenter.com and Condor Knife and Tool!!!!!!

Awsome Da Dao

I use this Da Dao for matrial art practice and cutting stuffs with . What great about this Da Dao is it is one piece construction ,very simple and very strong . The leather scabbard is very nice , well fit and well finish and protect the blade during transport . One surprise about this blade is that it is matted finish rather than blacken like in the picture and I prefer the matted finished for its good look. The edge come sharp out of the box and it cleanly cut hard plastic bottles like Gatorade and those vitamin added sport drink with out any problem.The only few complain I have is the sharp edge of the grip bottom of the guard . It is sharp enough that prolong session will give me a blister but putting a tape or fabric there will easily solve the problem. Second complain is that the total length of this Da Dao is 33 inches make it 2.5 inches too short for Military spec. Since most potentail user will not have to worry about fighting against Japanese Imperial infantry with this Da Doa the 2.5 inches shortage should post no problem and yet has add benefit of lighten the blade and make it slightly better balance. There is only about four Da Dao on the market so this one is a welcome addition to this neglect sword segment .

One of knife centers best kept secrets

This is one of those awesome blades that your only gonna find at knife center. I checked for it on line & couldn't find it anywhere else. This blade has a much better appearance than what the photo revealed. The 1075 steel has an almost mirror polish to it. The weight might seem heavy at first but the forward balance and heft of the blade make it easy to handle with one hand. The sheath was another nice surprise. Made of quality leather that matches the hardwood handle. This blade turned out to be better than I expected, and look forward to seeing what all it can do.

Great Deal

This is one of the first Condor products I have bought but it probably won't be the last. This sword is really well built for the price. The handles are tight, the steel looks great, and the scabbard was well built. This thing is a lot of fun and I am not as worried about damaging it because of the price. I would recommend that anyone who has the inclination to buy this sword do so. And buy it from Knifecenter because their customer service is top notch.

One-piece construction, check! Good weight and balance, check! Other than that, the sheath is great for attaching those small bungee cords to so I can take it along on the bike ride to my training spot.

One Tough Sword

I've used this sword for almost a year now and couldn't be happier. It's basically a single, thick slab of steel that has two wooden scales bolted on each side for a handle. It feels (and is) very rugged and durable with quality materials and craftmanship. The sheath was a bit of a disappointment though. It arrived slightly scuffed and is made of a rigid leather that feels a bit lower quality than what I'm used to with Condor. It also lacks any loops or connection straps and serves only to protect to blade. So far I've used the Dadao several times in the country to trim large branches and chop firewood. I've also had fun chopping up old 1x4s boards and cedar posts in the backyard with it (can easily chop the 1x4s in one swing!). It's too big to replace a machete for all day carry, but is a fun alternative to a light axe for backwoods use. I really like the simple ergonomics of the handle, which allows for good control with either one or two hands. It can get a bit slippery if your hands get sweaty though. Overall, this is one of my favorite swords/machetes and one which I supect will last a lifetime, even with heavy use. A definite recommend if you're looking for a heavy duty chopping blade.

Great Beater Blade

I have used the Dadao on flying two liters and gallon jugs as well as dangerous flying cantaloupes and small fruits and successfully cut thru three water filled 2liters leaving the bottoms still standing w water.It comes battle sharp but I feel could use a tune up on the cutting edge.It is basically a giant cleaver and it is heavy indeed.I want to get a rack of beef ribs and see if i can get thru that one day.It is a great deal for under $100.The sheath has no real way to mount it or carry it but its quality leather.I The handle is good grip and can be customized easily if desired.This is not a sword meant for speed but i feel more for power swings and chops.If u want a good beater in the Chinese War Sword Design,I feel this is the best deal pound4pound for a battle-ready chopper/lopper blade.It is not for weak arms.Here it is in action...

Fun beater, easily cleaved just about anything. Somewhat soft steel.

In addition to chopping this and that and "test cutting" (ha ha) I used my condor dadao to demolish an old couch so I could fit it in my van. I was careful to not hit any of the metal parts. I was surprised that I ended up with a few rolls on the blade. This was easily fixed with a block sharpening steel, but I am surprised that 1075 carbon steel rolled rather than chipped. Anyway I was chopping very hard wood and that's not really what a sword is for. But still. The balance in this hefty sword is somewhere between where a sword practically probably should be and an axe (especially if you were theoretically going to fight somebody armed with a similar weapon) you can't move it around that fast, but it hits very hard. I feel like something may have been off with the heat treat, because I don't think so hefty a blade should take damage from striking wood, but who knows.

Dadao Sword not available;Parang machete rated.

The Dadao Sword was actually unavailable from KC. I substituted the Parang machete made by Condor. The Parang is nicely done and solid built with a full tang. The grip needs to be cut thinner, however. I was able to locate the Dynasty Dadao Sword from another vendor - it's a fantastic product, too!
