Pros: Pocket Clip, Blade Material
Cons: Weight
Fun but flawed
I like it and enjoy carrying it despite its shortcomings. My first Krakatoa had a significant chip in the blade and Knife Center took excellent care of me. My second example arrived in pristine condition and I immediately put it to work. After spending some time with it and throwing a variety of tasks at it I feel I can give a qualified review. The good: -Nice aesthetic with natural micarta slab -Scandi grind -CondorLock and 1095 blade steel inspire confidence The bad: -Every screw needs to be tightened -Weak detent The Ugly: -Weighs a ton This knife is thick and you will know it’s on you. This primitive design also requires a near constant maintenance routine of tightening the pivot screw and oiling the blade. Oddly enough it grew on me and I didn’t mind the extra attention. It is a flawed execution and for the money there are better knives. But this knife has personality, and personality goes a long way.
