Basically a combat Axe

I like two bit axes for throwing, chopping wood and cutting tree limbs. But the other goal is an axe for defense and offense combat. Most two bit axes are too heavy at the head but when Condor developed this Michigan axe, all questions were filled because it’s light and Fast! The leather sheath is outstanding and attached to the belt and swings front and back so you can sit down. The makers in El Salvador did a great job, so thank you so much Condor!

I LOOKED LONG AND HARD TO LOCATE THE PERFECT AXE

I had been looking for that perfect axe for my needs. I was at first skeptical but decided to take the chance, The balance is perfect and form my uses and needs this axe is perfect. Handle length is a perfect compromise for my pack and the fit between head and handle tight and secure. The grain is flawless and weight and balance near perfection. I am not one too use this tool daily but truly look forward to many years of service and must say my next investments will surely be through your firm... superb resonse... Thank you.

Good Unique product

i really liked the design of this hatchet/axe especially for survival, camping, backpacking. its about as big as you would want a pack axe to be if you dont need a full sized axe. very few chopping tools are well thought out or designed these days, thats why the Swedish axes have gained so much popularity. the double bit has lost alot of popularity in th elast 50 years but it has several things going for it first of all it has two edges and no matter how you look at it will hold a sharp usable edge longer than a single bit. second double bit axes are extremely well balanced, in fact the one i got was perfect. although they lack a hammering surface in the form of a poll, you can hammer with the side of the head if you really need to. the handle grain was very good too, better then the wetterlings i have. i didnt give it 5 stars because the head is heavy for its size and has a thick profile that i didnt find helpful, i found a very minute amount of play between the head and handle when i was working it hard and the sheath fitment wasnt that great although it does have a swiveling belt loop which is real nice. the most redeeming feature is that i called condor and explained the things i was dissatisfied with and they told me to send them the hatchet and they would send me a new one. turns out they are actually redesigning this thing a bit and i will receive a new model as soon as they are available. i was told it will have a thinner profile for more efficient cutting and i would assume a lighter head in turn. i think they also mentioned a sheath change too. i will review it again once i receive the new one. overall i would say a good product for the price.
