Replacing my village Parang now
I love my Duku. I liked the fact that the older village parang did so well, but wanted something lighter, so I purchased this. Its lighter than both my village parang and my Pack golok, and came razor sharp out of the box. So much so, that as I was checking if I could shave with it, I cut myself. My past three Condor purchases have been like this, nothing short of exceptional for the money I put in the darn things. My handle came balanced and perfect there on both sides of it, and I couldn't be more happy. I cut down some pine saplings all around the house yesterday to keep my wife happy, and even missed and went into the dirt. Didn't hurt it at all. this thing RULES.

Mini Duku
Exceptionally well made blades! Don't pay attention to those people that knock Condor products! You're getting an outstanding product for the price you pay! Weight is important for the task at hand. If you want to chop a tree down, use an axe. Machetes aren't made for that. Condor machetes are made to be used to clear brush and light chopping chores.

I like the compactness and weight I will be using my Condor Mini Duku Parang during my hikes into the forests on the island of Hawaii, I also own a Condor Final Frontier knife that led me to the mini duku parang mahalo for a wonderful product and great service aloha

A great chopper
Of all the sites on the net, the Knife Center is the only one with the best customer service. The lady told me I could list what I needed them to check out on the knife before they shipped it. No one could or would do that! It was even printed on my receipt. Some of the reviews report that some of these had lose handles, unsharpened blades, uneven grinds and poor fitting sheaths. So I wanted to be sure those things were ok before shipping. I try to avoid returning things. And bingo, they sent me a keeper! It was sharp but I improved it and commenced cutting an uprooted tree roots. The right side bevel was too convex near the edge so I reprofiled it flatter with the Rooster method. Now this thing sinks in deeply with very little effort. And this tree has been dead for nine months so it’s really hard and dense. I don’t have any blade that will do that, even longer heavier machetes! I like the wood handle and I reshaped it to fit my hand. I used boiled linseed oil for a finish, made a para cord lanyard and it is good to go. This knife is amazing and what it does is unlike anything else. Get one.

Perfect for backpacking
Some machetes are too large or heavy for backpacking. This is a small but very well built machete. It chops good and the leather sheath is top notch heavy duty. The only minor drawback would be with certain types of wood it sticks when chopping due to its convex grind. I still love this machete.

pretty ok
It has the usuall flaws from condor a bit uneven grind that needs reprofiling,a bit to heavy for its size. handle is well shaped. sheath is good quality. its a bit to heavy and its close to the same weight as the pack golok i had hoped for it being a bit lighter with the skeltonized handle. the copper wire at the choil area has forced them to actually grind out material of the blade so it is flush,rehandling it will be a bit strange. balance is ok. came dull but you alway need to reprofile condor blades anyway since they always grind the left side more then the right side. blade was straight and not bent.

I only got to cut some trees around the house. It needs a sharpening, but otherwise I like it's size and quality of build. The sheath is better than I expected.
