My Kirinite Scales Project

This blank is an outstanding foundation for any customized scale project one would like to tackle. I used the bushlore for a double Kirinite scale project. I used a 1/8 inch glow in the dark blue liner with a 3/8" "Patriot" outer scale. I used the West Marine gflex expoxy system for gluing the scales together and then onto the blank tang. This was after reading about how some epoxies just did not adhere to the kirinite. After roughing up all surfaces on the blade tang, & between the kirinite layers with 80 grit sandpaper, the West Marine gflex, so far, is standing up to all the filing, cutting, profiling and contouring. The scandi grind was sharp out of the box but I went ahead and spent some time dressing the full scandi grind to a razor sharp edge. No secondary bevel involved. I am very happy with how this project came out and after showing it around at work, I've peaked some interest in turning this hobby into a money maker. Overall I'm very happy with this knife blank and as far as I'm concerned, Condor made a wise decision in offering several of their models as blanks.
